Very much looking forward to being at the St Andrews Festival of Literature next weekend talking about our book on the psalms - Garden Song https://t.co/j4pm7kOBzH @StAndrewsBooks
To others, this is the #PostOfficeScandal. To us, it's our dad’s life - the years, the health and the peace he should've had. What happened to dad cannot be undone. But being heard, believed and remembered helps - and I guess in a small way it can make a victim heal a little 💙👇
@VarchasPatel Its so frustrating isn’t it. And their support is so non existent it leaves the way for scammers to then jump in and pretend to help and get personal info. I will do - say hi to your folks from me.
Dear @amazon - why have you started using @Evri__Delivery - we used to have a great service - they don’t seem able to locate a perfectly easy to find house and nothing arrives and there is no one to call. They are the worst!
There were two tiers of possible response to the express wishes of Henry Nowak's dignified family in the light of his traumatic murder. One humane and empathetic, the other inhumane and exploitative. This version of "Lyin' Eyes" (Eagles) is for @JDVance and those in the second.
This is awful. The last ever Denby Pottery going to the kiln. Why is there not uproar? Where’s the government in this?? We all have Denby in our homes, in family heirlooms, as our history and now it’s closing through lack of support, such a sad sad day. #SaveDenby@denbypottery
Goosebumps! People often ask, is Shakespeare still relevant? Here is a great example, from the Steven Colbert Show, in which Sir Ian McKellen delivers an extraordinary speech. Shakespeare’s words are timeless, urgent and important.

Thousands and thousands and thousands of items of evidence concerning the unspeakable crimes of men.
And the only person serving a prison sentence is a woman.
An Afghan girl cries:
“I wish God had never created women. Even animals can roam freely, but we are forbidden to step outside the house.”
The Taliban has permanently banned women from attending schools and legalized (sexual) slavery.
Zero protests by leftists or Muslims.
We hope the good people of #SanFrancisco will forgive us for adapting a song about their city in 1967 to address the shocking and tragic events in #Minnesota in recent weeks. This is dedicated to Renée Good and Alex Pretti, and in solidarity. Our version is called "Minnesota" ❤️
If you are a woman in Afghanistan with a toothache, you can’t get treated.
Because women are denied the right to education, they cannot become dentists and male dentists are not allowed to treat female patients.
Currently, only a limited number of women dentists remain, and they are not enough to meet the needs of the entire female population.
And the only things women are allowed , stoning, banned from rights and remove them from society 💔
@aspiringpeasant The entire speech of Bishop Rob Hirschfield, Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, at the vigil for Renee Good in Concord, NH, on 9 January 2026:

I withdrew from the process to chair the National Inquiry today. To prevent further misinformation and unhelpful speculation I am sharing my letter of withdrawal.
I beg all the bishops, gay or straight, to give careful attention to this reflection by the Dean of @CburyCathedral. A tough read but a necessary one. @ViaMedia_News https://t.co/818dhelAXs
Art installations in English cathedrals: the Parable of the Prodigal Son in stained glass by William Denny @ChChCathedralOx, dedicated at the end of last month.
Following the announcement that The Rt Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally DBE is to become the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury, The @BishopNewcastle, the Right Reverend Dr Helen-Ann Hartley said: “My first thought today is for our Jewish sisters and brothers in Manchester who were subjected to such a horrifying and devastating attack yesterday on the festival of Yom Kippur. Closer to home, I have sent a message of support and solidarity to the Jewish community in Newcastle-Gosforth and to the rabbi and his family who have been such a support both to me personally and to the diocese and our interfaith work. It was so good to see police presence locally in Gosforth and I am grateful for the work of the police in providing this community reassurance. Standing against hate is a common goal of so many faith communities and working together to build strong and flourishing communities for all people is a vital task in our current age.
“It is into that landscape that today I welcome the announcement that Bishop Sarah Mullally is to be the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury. This is historic and ground-breaking news and represents another glass-ceiling for women that has been well and truly shattered. My prayers today are with Archbishop-designate Sarah, her family and friends and the Diocese of London who now prepare to farewell her in the coming months. We in the Diocese of Newcastle rejoice today and with full hearts offer our support to Archbishop Sarah as she takes on this extraordinary task of Christian leadership. I pray for a whole Church that is renewed, steadied and ready to listen afresh to the voices of the weak, marginalised, and excluded. A fresh vision for a world in need of healing and hope.”
