In this week’s episode, the Geophys team hunts for the remains of an Anglo-Saxon hall, and a major anomaly could point to Sutton Hoo’s ancient shipping story. ⚓️

Rudston Monolith. The tallest standing stone in the UK. Rudston Parish Churchyard, East Riding of Yorkshire (also home to another stone and the grave of Winifred Holtby) #StandingStoneSunday

Guinevere's Dialect Compendium. Jarp /jarping - knocking the paste eggs together until one cracks. From the Scottish jaup, "to splash or be bespatter a person or thing " ( albeit the idea is to break the shell not splatter the egg! )
@JHCPAL Tid, Mid, Miseray, Carlin, Palm, Paste Egg Day was the rhyme to remember the Sunday order to Easter. Paste Eggs got jarped or rolled in my corner of South Durham 🥚🥚🥚
The great egg debate ...it is clearly Paste rather than Pace in the NE, which delights me. OED says "chiefly northern English & historical"....yes to the former ,no to the latter ! Earliest recorded use 1611. From pasch & pace egg. Origins seemingly Dutch.
@12BBYTHESEASIDE I have really enjoyed your posts and the chats we’ve had on Twitter. You’ve been a lovely Twitter mate over the years. Such a shame that bloke ruined a good thing. Best wishes to you and yours BB 🤗
Thanks @NorthumbrianH2O for polluting the sea……..hasn’t rained for days yet you are reported as discharging. No swim for me this evening 😡 How are they getting away with this @Feargal_Sharkey 😢
Made sure I stuffed a bit more in my rubbish bag after spotting this beauty 😁 We were just grumbling about all the sea glass collectors digging the beach up! I only ever take home bits that I see as I figure they want to come home with me 😁 #Seaham#Seaglass
@timdredge1 I’m not impressed by people going fully tooled up. Like the fossil hunters that go armed with chisels and power tools. I prefer to find things with my eyes! Way more sustainable!
