Saham Toney capitalised on our below-par total with a strong showing with the bat, led by 82 not out from David Ellis, chasing down the required runs inside 20 overs for the loss of one wicket.
POTM: Jamie Edwards
Hingham 2s had a day to forget away at Saham Toney...
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, we found ourselves on the receiving end of an excellent bowling performance by the hosts.
Struggling to put together any partnerships of note, Jamie Edwardsβ 20, 17 from Alex Rowell and a flurry of boundaries off the bat of Becky Cole (11) were the only highlights as we slumped to a first innings score of 121 all out.
The Hingham bowlers took regular wickets from the top order, with Cromer having a couple of stubborn lower-order partnerships before being bowled out for 141, with 3 wickets apiece for Scent and Venables.
POTM: Chris Greenslade
Hingham 1βs get back to winning ways on a scorching Saturday! π
The lads were thrilled to see the skipper win the toss and send Cromer out into the field, however spirits were slightly dampened when Cromer started brightly with a couple wickets.
A huge thank you to Tracey Scent for sponsoring todayβs match ballπ
Tracey has sponsored in memory of her father, Richard Clayton, who sadly passed away recently. Everyone at the club is sending you their love. β€οΈ
