Candle had high praise for LB Hayden Pegg's contributions to the Huskies this season:

"I'm really happy that he's with us. I'm really happy he's on our football team. I'm really glad for that kid that he's playing the way he's playing because he's certainly earned it."

DC Ryan Manalac did experiment throughout the game as the Huskies are now in a 4-3

Still on 6th drive, you can see LB Hayden Pegg is in, able to drop into coverage & almost come up with a pick

The first drive of the 2nd quarter saw Luke Murphy & Rickey Williams come in at LB for their first series

Williams made a stop on 1st down, with Murphy getting this TFL on 2nd

Esean Carter also blew up the play from his DT spot

As Lafayette began to threaten for 1st time, in come your top LBs & both come up w/sacks on back to back plays

John Lista was up first, but I also want you to watch the pre-snap communication

This is game one with a new group, it looks like they’ve been together for much longer

[Storrs Central @StorrsCentral]

#UConnFootball Head Coach Jason Candle began his Week 2 press conference by giving his MVPs of the Lafayette game to WR Julian Allen (Special Teams), K'Von Sherman (Defense) & Kalieb Osborne (Offense)
