@sbell021 It’s like the powers that be got together and said, “College Football is the best sport by far. Let’s see what we can do to totally screw it up.” Never seen a sport fall so fast from what it once was. Usually takes a steady decline for several years, not less than 5 years.
A letter to the dad who thinks summer hockey is mandatory:
It isn't.
I know the anxiety. Everyone else is at camp. The other kids are getting private lessons. You're worried about falling behind.
Here's what I've seen: kids who burn out in summer sometimes don't come back. Kids who take a real break almost always do.
Let him breathe. The rink will still be there in September.
@chrispronger Update: Jake did as told, took it easy, then went through many physical therapy sessions, and everything healed very well. Even ahead of schedule. Began 1st with hitting in baseball. Got fully released last week and celebrated by hitting a home run. Will start skating this week.
My little boy suffered his first major injury, as he broke his right fibula & tibia during hockey practice. Jake got his cast and is healing well. He‘s out for the rest of hockey season. If you could please @chrispronger, please give him a kind word or 2. You're his favorite.
@JohnGoldman I coached high school baseball for 11 years, 10 of those at a Class 6 school, the largest in Missouri. We had good players, competitive to winning teams, great kids, hard workers…..
Out of those 10 yrs, we had 3 kids go D1. If a kid plays any level of college, they’re a stud.
@OleTimeHardball Most talented, yes.
Greatest player? I’ll go Michael Jordan with Kareem as a very close second.
Most versatile player ever? Earvin Magic Johnson.
Most powerful force of a player? Shaquille O’Neal.
Winningest player? Bill Russell.
Most dominant over competition? Wilt.
@SoonerVirginia Lifelong Nebraska fan who is from Missouri.
This is so true with OU and Neb fans. Much love and respect there. Always loved going to those games.
My Mizzou and KU friends absolutely hate the other to an immeasurable degree. The most underrated and most intense rivalry ever.
@HawkEmDownChris Magic is my favorite player ever. That being said, both men say the other was better, and I don’t think either one of them are wrong. Magic is the most versatile player ever. Bird from 81-86 was about as good as I’ve ever seen. Very close call, but I pick Earvin Magic Johnson.
@HawkEmDownChris Magic, Kareem, James Worthy, Shaq, Kobe, Jerry West, Wilt, Bill Walton, Cedric Maxwell, Larry, Mark Aguire, Michael Jordan, Hakeem, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, LeBron, Steph Curry, Giannis
@OleTimeHardball I sincerely hope you get one.
