The biggest enemy of every team having the ultimate success?
1) Ego out of control… stats more important than wins
2) Jealousy… had rather lose than see particular teammate or coaching mate get praised
3) Worried about getting the credit… believing that u r the reason for the success but that no one will know
4) Wife, partner, family consistently telling u to do more to “get what u deserve”
5) Out of control career trajectory… belief u deserve it all now
To be your best fight these demons… and use whatever authority u have to praise and give credit to others ( even when they don't deserve it)

Summer Camp Hits The Dreaded “Lull”…What to Do?
1) Coaching matters… Dont allow the “lull” to effect your attention to detail…It will cost u games…Be more demanding
2) Fun is a choice…If u are miserable, so will everyone around u be miserable…Choose to create fun… A big smile goes a long way and a tasteful funny joke goes further!
3) Rally around the human who is struggling the most and tell them how much u admire their courage… remember, if you're not afraid u can't be courageous…Courage is being afraid and doing it anyway!
4) Pattern Interrupts make gigantic differences in all humans…U can have a perfect Rhythm to practice but when u do something no one expects it changes the rhythm and creates anticipation and wonderment( just like game day)….Practice pattern interrupts
5) Fight the urge to always “ be a horses ass”… u may think “it's just who I am” but it's a choice and it's not effective
Sunday Extras…Getting a small edge on your opponent on Sundays during fall camp:
1) QB and Top Receivers…15 minutes of Goal Line Back Shoulder/Goal Line Post/ and Goal Line Whips… all versus imaginary press cover…Key coaching points ( Read body language for indicators of where and when to throw ball…Goal line Post make certain receiver has to reach above his head for catch to prevent tipped balls...Whips expect the undercut by defender and soft touch air ball preventing undercut pick six)
2) Tight Ends work Goal-line corner routes ( focus on good body lean and stick to give qb indicator… Angle to back pylon… burst with speed and eyes go up not back as ball will be in the air
3) RB master the goal line arrow route… and the angle mimicking the direction of the arrow route for 6!steps
These can be half to 3/4 speed but u will get an edge!

2) There will come a time when it's needed…If u do them everyday then the one time u actually really need it no one will hear u
3) Pattern Interrupts make a bigger difference…Change the “flow” of information with unique presentations and different presenters
4) Teach your players when and how to be dramatic and loud and poignant… they won't know till u train them
5) Some of your “assistant coaches and players” need a muzzle put On them at times… it's a difficult conversation that MUST be had
6) Words and body language matter… All of us have to understand our actions have consequences…Just because we are in charge doesn't mean we are right…
7) Be reflective... Be honest with yourself and improve

New Rookie Coach first year…What to Do?
1) Do Every “S*it” job nobody else wants to do with a smile and gratitude
2) Outwork everyone…First to arrive/Last to leave
3) Be so valuable that the head coach and coordinators can't live without u…Prepare for them before they ask for it ( ask for forgiveness rather permission)
4) Master the details of your position better than anyone in the history of the game and then execute the details the way the coordinator and head coach want u to
5) Get coffee before they ask u to
6) Hustle
7) Be in great physical shape and demonstrate drills better than a player
8) Be respectful but don't accept being bullied ( there's a radical difference in a superior commanding a job be done than a superior who purposely and multiple times publicly humiliates u…Look them in the eye, stand tall, and demand respect as a human or else u will bullied into oblivion… no job or career is worth that)
9) Smile and love the journey… it can be special
10) Love and care for and mentor and learn from the players you coach…if u do this right u will dramatically change lives for the better and have a remarkable career
The young coaches I've worked/ hired/ and mentored who mastered these traits have become: Head Coaches making from $275k to 6-8 million per year… coordinators making $$$ millions/ OL coaches making millions/ receiver coaches and rb coaches making millions… worked for the most elite college and NFL and high school programs in the world… there is a formula… follow it

Coaching is teaching…What does a good teacher look like?
1) They have incredible patience
2) They understand it isn't what they know that matters, it's the information the student can retain and use skillfully that makes them an effective teacher
3) They know that all students learn differently and adjust accordingly to how their students learn
4) They communicate with different tones and different patterns as “boredom” will set in when everyday, every message, every movement sounds and feels the same.
5) They continue to learn from their students because the greatest teacher to them is the ones they've taught
6) They are open to criticism and know they aren't always right
7) They respect the unique histories of every students background and realize we all are who we are because of the backgrounds we were born into and our only influences are the unique circumstances we lived separately from any other humans lived experiences
8) Their greatest gift is the moment they see the student finally “get it”…finally master a task they believed was impossible… and for that single moment all the frustration was worth it
