The year was 2012 - Don Nelson had just been inducted into the HOF. I was living in Hawaii and coaching @HPU_MBB . I watched his induction speech. Per his speech, he was living in Hawaii. I vowed to myself to go find him in Maui. I called his restaurant, got redirected to an associate of his - told me they would pass along my phone number. Gave my phone number! Don Nelson then called me! Invited me to his restaurant in Maui (I was living on Oahu) - I booked the first flight. Spent a Saturday morning with him eating breakfast, listening to stories - he even showed me his home. Remarkable kindness from a legend. RIP

I’ll be truly transparent here. I don’t even like the American league. I’m a dodger lifer, but I’m gonna go and make my comment again. I’ve never seen anything like what the Boston Red Sox are doing, and I saw it in person last week. They are absolutely putting on a clinic of baseball it’s never been done like this in MLB this kind of stretch. They’re up 11-1 today.
32-5 in 37 I believe. Unbelievable
