Last week, CPD Explorer Sabrina Blair had the honor of speaking at the 2026 Wolf River Good Scout Award Dinner, hosted by the Chickasaw Council, Scouting America, in recognition of Shelby County Sheriff Floyd Bonner.
Explorer Blair shared her personal experiences in the Collierville Police Explorer Program and how the program has shaped her growth, leadership, and future goals. Her remarks reflected the impact this program has on the development of young leaders within our community.
Through Scouting America, young men and women are provided opportunities to build character, leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of service. Values that closely align with the mission of the Collierville Police Department. Our Explorer Program continues that mission by giving participants hands-on experience, mentorship, and insight into careers in law enforcement and public safety.
We are proud of Explorer Blair for representing CPD so well and sharing her story. We also appreciate the continued support from our community partners who help make this program possible and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of leaders.
This week is National Corrections Week
This week, May 3-9. 2026, please join us in recognizing and honoring our Jailers for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public safety. Their work is essential to the justice system and often goes unseen, yet it plays a critical role in keeping our community safe.
The Collierville Police Department is proud to have 15 dedicated Jailers who work around the clock to support our operations. Operating 24/7, the Jail is an integral component of the Uniform Patrol Division. Our Jailers perform a wide range of duties, including feeding inmates, maintaining order, and monitoring the Police Department campus through the Jail Control Center’s security systems.
In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first week of May as National Correctional Officers’ Week to honor the men and women who serve in our nation’s jails and prisons.
We thank our corrections professionals for their hard work, resilience, and continued service to our community.
Today, CPD joins communities across the country in recognizing National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.
In accordance with a Presidential Proclamation, our flag is lowered to half-staff in honor of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage, commitment, and service will never be forgotten.
We also want to take a moment to thank firefighters across this nation who continue to answer the call each day, putting others before themselves.
A special thank you to the men and women with Collierville Fire & Rescue . We appreciate your dedication, your partnership, and the work you do to keep our community safe.

📷Career on Wheels – CPD on the Move! 📷
This morning, the Collierville Police Department had a great time participating in the Career Fair on Wheels at Crosswind Elementary School.
Hosted by Collierville Schools, this event gives K–2 students a hands-on opportunity to explore a variety of vocational vehicles, including police cars, fire trucks, forklifts, and utility vehicles. It’s all about connecting students with the people and careers behind the wheel, alongside our community partners like the Town of Collierville Public Works Department and local safety personnel.
We also had the opportunity to visit Schilling Farms Elementary School for a show-and-tell, where students met K9 Officer Kuchenbecker and K9 Axel.
We appreciate the opportunity to engage with our youngest community members and help inspire future leaders. Thank you to Collierville Schools for having us!
Officers Tapp and Brister, along with Dispatcher Byars, had a great time representing the Collierville Police Department at Collierville High School’s Career Fair Expo this past weekend.
They enjoyed connecting with students, sharing insight into careers in law enforcement and public safety, and answering questions about what it takes to serve the community.
Thank you to CHS for the opportunity to be part of this event and to engage with the next generation of future professionals!
