We condemn Trump escalation of U.S. war on Cuba
https://t.co/177vNG9mc0
The Communist Party USA denounces the U.S. imperialist policy of blackmailing other countries to join this illegal blockade, and we see it as part of the broader, dangerous fascistic threat in the U.S.
We demand the immediate and unconditional rescinding of this executive order, the full lifting of the economic blockade, and Cuba’s removal from the fabricated “State Sponsors of Terrorism” list. We pledge to continue mobilizing the working class and peace-loving people of the United States to fight this criminal, fascistic policy and regime.

Joy in the Struggle: The life of Bea Lumpkin, 1918-2026
https://t.co/94IPyetay5
Joe Sims, co-chair of the Communist Party USA—of which Bea was a member for over 90 years—said, “With the passing of Comrade Bea Lumpkin, we lost a great fighter for peace and social justice…. We pause to dip our banner in her memory.”
Zionist land sales: profiting from Palestinian dispossession

“The people buying a plot of land in the West Bank are not innocent victims of misleading advertising. They are conscious political investors, providing the capital and international legitimacy that sustains the project.”
Today I join those in @Chicago and across the world in mourning Bea Lumpkin—a towering figure in the labor movement, an unwavering advocate for fully-funded education, and a continued source of inspiration for us all.
Spanning almost an entire century of public engagement, Lumpkin was deeply involved in movements for workers' rights, civil rights, and educational justice. She advocated for the right of workers to organize and bargain collectively, supported efforts to advance racial justice, and fought for policies that protected vulnerable communities.
As a teacher and organizer, Bea brought the lessons of solidarity into the classroom. As a math teacher in Chicago Public Schools and at Malcolm X College, she inspired generations of students while remaining deeply engaged building worker power. Through her leadership in the Chicago Teachers Union Retiree Committee and Climate Justice Committee, she built bridges between generations, reminding us that strong schools and strong communities are built through collective action and a steadfast commitment to justice.
Bea Lumpkin's life was a testament to the power of principled activism and the enduring belief that ordinary people, working together, can change the world. May her memory continue to guide and inspire us and we honor her legacy and carry on her pursuit for justice.
Today we honor the life and legacy of Beatrice “Bea” Lumpkin — CTU member, educator, labor organizer, and steadfast advocate for working people. For more than a century, Bea dedicated herself to building a stronger labor movement and a more just world, standing alongside generations of organizers in struggles for workers’ rights, civil rights, public education, and environmental justice.
From organizing on factory floors as a teenager to remaining active in CTU’s Climate Justice Committee in her later years, Bea led with conviction, courage, and an unwavering belief in collective action. We mourn her passing and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and comrades. May her memory continue to inspire us in the work ahead.

Pass the Transgender Bill of Rights
Call, write, and visit your U.S. Senators and Representative as we recognize Pride Month to support the Transgender Bill of Rights H.Res.1058 (Rep. Pramila Jayapal and 107 co-sponsors) and S. Res. 604 (Sen. Edward Markey and 9 co-sponsors). The organized attack against transgender, nonbinary and LGBTQ+ people is part of the overall attack on human and democratic rights for everyone.
Pass the Transgender Bill of Rights to protect and codify the rights and dignity of transgender and nonbinary people under the law and ensure their access to medical care, shelter, safety and economic security.

Nearly 1K members of UAW Local 2093 are on strike against American Axle.
Like the rest of the working class in the U.S., after decades of falling behind while the capitalist class raked in billions, they’re not going anywhere until they get what they’ve earned.

Peace forces win war powers resolution vote, but Iran war isn't over yet. The vote in the House was a small but significant crack in the war caucus and a sign the anti-war movement is gaining ground.

The Communist Party USA condemns the politically motivated charges brought against Raúl Castro as yet another example of the tyranny and hypocrisy by the United States. The sole purpose of these charges is to provide an excuse to pursue the decades-old regime change policy against socialist Cuba. Read the full article here: https://t.co/FewBrvXXgX
Once again, all eyes are on Delaney Hall concentration camp in Newark, where detainees and allies are united in protest against squalid conditions, brutal mistreatment, and lack of democratic oversight. Like many of this administration’s policies, however, dehumanization and torture of people in state custody is nothing new. Nor is the use of violence against protestors. ICE terror tactics were developed in police departments and in prisons--some state-run, others operated for profit by the same corporations now making bank on the mass deportation agenda. Can the broad resistance to ICE connect with ongoing struggles for prison abolition and community control of police? And can capitalism survive without its apparatus of racist state terror? Join us for a discussion of state violence, abolition-democracy, and working class self-determination.
Join us Friday at 10:30 for the discussion. https://t.co/2ZAZVMdFRr

Protests at Newark immigrant detention center grow, including an ongoing hunger strike in protest of the conditions there.
The hunger strikers sent letters weeks before their strike about the deplorable conditions, and elected officials sat on the information until the hunger strike began.

Shut down detention centers!
Call, write, and visit your U.S. Senators and Representative to demand that ICE detention centers be shut down and no further funding for ICE and border patrol be allocated. The illegal denial of access to elected officials for oversight at Delaney Hall, a private for-profit mass detention center in Newark, NJ, is an alarming abuse of power. Growing reports of inhumane conditions imposed at these prisons on immigrants with no criminal records is unacceptable and requires they be closed.
Vote NO on the $71 billion for ICE and CBP in the reconciliation bill under consideration. Instead, allocate those funds to the basic needs of working-class and immigrant communities to benefit everyone.
