FIFA awards World Cup to USA, USA denies entry to qualified African official despite valid visa. The tournament profits from global participation while gatekeeping who physically enters.
The US Embassy in Nairobi is marred with documented exploitation: application fees non-refundable, processing months long, rejection in two minutes, no explanation required. Africans treated as suspects funding American bureaucracy with no guarantee of entry.
FIFA should have demanded visa-free access for all accredited officials and participants as hosting condition. They didn't because African dignity wasn't a negotiating priority.
If they can't guarantee entry to everyone they invited, they shouldn't be hosting everyone's tournament.
Every expert was once a beginner.
Every winner was once uncertain.
The hardest part of any journey is often the first step.
Take it anyway.

Fundamentals compound. Shortcuts skip the foundation and collapse later.
Mental health, relationships, hard skills, consistent effort during invisible seasons - these aren't optional extras. They're the structure everything else is built on.
The unphotogenic years are where real building happens. Social media shows the arrival, never the journey that made it possible.
Short term pain, long term freedom. The only trade worth making.
@cheruiyotkb Passion is the fuel, system is the engine.
Love without leverage = expensive hobby. Build recurring revenue, intellectual property, or scalable delivery around what you enjoy.
The goal is to generate income that doesn't require your daily presence.
An unusual judicial position. Finding errors but still validating outcome suggests the court prioritized political stability over procedural integrity. Court of Appeal will scrutinize those acknowledged flaws more closely. Whether that produces a different outcome remains to be seen.
@bevalynekwambo3 A year later no justice for Albert Ojwang who was killed in police custody.
Same police getting Ksh 408M budget increase. Same system. Different victims.
In Kenya, the budget for those who kill you grows while justice for their victims shrinks.
We shall remember!
The court has cooked @rigathi. Two fatal findings on public participation and bias have sealed his fate. But I believe the court’s findings on these two issues are implausible and incoherent in view of the evidence before them. We will wait for the decisions of the Court of Appeal in 2028 and the Supreme Court in 2029!
The Constitution is also silent on many things that courts have previously interpreted expansively in favor of citizen participation. Selective minimalism applied conveniently protects the Executive.
Same courts that found adequate public participation in Gachagua's rushed impeachment now find no requirement for public participation in his replacement's appointment.
Both rulings protect the Executive's actions. Coincidence is becoming a pattern.
Parliament representing people is valid in theory. In Kenya, where MPs vote along Executive lines under threat of losing tenders and nominations, it's theoretical democracy enabling practical autocracy.
Kindiki is now legally shielded. Gachagua's case weakening further.
Judicial ruling against Gachagua on two major grounds of public participation adequacy and Senate obligation has significantly weakened his reinstatement case. Kenyan courts rarely rule against executive interests in high-profile political matters. Two consecutive adverse rulings suggests either overwhelming legal evidence against him or judicial independence on this specific case.
Either way, Gachagua's political comeback through courts looks increasingly unlikely. His loudest value now is as opposition irritant, not reinstated Deputy President.
Look at this trend;
Fuel found at Ksh 159.
Raised to Ksh 207.
'Reduced' to Ksh 194.
Dollar found at Ksh 119.
Raised to Ksh 162.
'Recovered' to Ksh 130.
Next time government affiliated bodies announce a reduction, ask yourself:
Reduced compared to WHEN?
KRA now warns that if you don’t file your tax return by June 30, it will file for you using its own data.
If the figures are wrong, you will have to explain and correct them.
@moneyacademyKE Burden of proof reversed. KRA files on your behalf using their data, then you must prove them wrong.
Classic government power shift; assume compliance failure, force citizens to disprove incorrect assessments rather than KRA proving accuracy first.
The arrest of former Chief Justice David Maraga shows how low Ruto’s regime has sunk.
When a government starts arresting former Chief Justices, activists and ordinary citizens for standing up on public issues, it is no longer governing through legitimacy, persuasion or the people’s mandate.
Ruto has lost the people, and what remains is rule by the gun, intimidation and police power. This is how regimes behave when they know the ground has shifted beneath them.
@Dr_AustinOmondi Keith Ikinu's academic achievements stand independently of his father's politics.
Index 3 at Alliance, 17th nationally, UON medical school is earned merit. Intellectual accomplishment deserves recognition regardless of family politics.
The government creates the risk, then uses the resulting panic to retroactively justify the decision that created the risk.
The logic doesn't hold. Geography hasn't changed. The outbreak isn't new. Kenya's proximity to DRC hasn't changed.
What changed is that Kenya volunteered to become America's biological risk management destination, and now must convince citizens this was wisdom, not a sovereignty trade.
@Dr_AustinOmondi Civic responsibility is non-negotiable. Uninformed voting produces informed suffering.
You chose the leadership, you own the consequences. Accountability starts at the ballot box.
Religion as opium numbs critical thinking, creates euphoric compliance, enables exploitation. A doctor with enough education to question supernatural claims donating her apartment to a pastor demonstrates how deep the conditioning runs. Professional training doesn't automatically override childhood indoctrination. The pastor "accepting as token of his divinity" is predatory behavior with theological cover.
