Two weeks left until #ElectionDay!
CFC works relentlessly to advocate for legislation to protect consumers, but we also need elected officials who are willing to FIGHT for consumers and help get those bills across the finish line to become law.
Make your voice count and vote!
Proud to have organized labor standing with me! Billionaires are spending millions to attack our campaign because they know I’ll fight for working people, not corporate interests. Marin and Sonoma deserve a voice for working families in Sacramento. Union strong! ✊🏾
No one fights for justice like Dolores Huerta. I’m humbled to receive her endorsement, and I’ll work hard every day to live up to her example of courage and leadership.
The CFC Team was in SF this past weekend to walk precincts for @Scott_Wiener.
CFC endorses Scott Wiener for Congress because of his strong record of standing up for consumers.
The Consumer Federation of CA endorses @BenAllenCA for Insurance Commissioner because the CARS Act is one of many examples of his strong track record on consumer issues, not the exception.
He has proven to be a leader and fighter for consumers even on the toughest issues.
“After CFC’s endorsement committee interviewed all six top candidates for California Insurance Commissioner it became obvious that the best choice for the office is State Senator @BenAllenCA," said CFC Executive Director Robert Herrell. (cont)
AB 1720 would have gotten rid of the competitors in the secondary market.
LESS competition does NOT lower prices.
This bill would have only strengthened the monopoly's power to charge higher prices. [3/3]
AB 1720, a bill that CFC opposed, died in Senate Appropriations last week.
CFC Executive Director Robert Herrell appeared on CBS News Bay Area last week to share why AB 1720 was not the pro-consumer initiative it appeared to be. [1/3]
AB 1720 would have capped resale prices of live entertainment tickets to 10% above face value.
The problem?
The bill would have exempted the monopoly (Live Nation/Ticketmaster) from this cap despite being one of the biggest players in the resale market. [2/3]
