I covered a team that lost 13-straight games in an empty arena. I wrote over 50 articles on them. They tortured me enough that I’d voice-memo my friend after every loss.
Today I watched them do the impossible with my best friends in the world.
Wouldn’t change a thing.
@hesitantleslie You're a kind, wonderful person and you have so many people here rooting for you - I'm so sorry this happened, but you're gonna keep doing amazing and find someone who appreciates you for who you are, what you deserve. Hang in there.

@PAndres2001 One could also make the argument the Mets themselves are a transplant with their shorter history; the 30-for-30 on the ‘86 Mets discusses it really well.
You spend enough time in the area you’ll meet a lot of fans of both teams, and their explanations vary greatly. It’s fun!
@PAndres2001 As a “transplant” I did start paying more attention to the Mets than the Yankees this year, but it also has to do with how the two teams present themselves.
Yankee Stadium feels like a cathedral, Citi Field feels like a nightclub. Sometimes the fun factor plays a role.
In the most Northwestern Uni move, they *just* announced that alumni will no longer have access to our Google Drive accounts in *12* (TWELVE) days because pricing went up.
Not like a school known for its media/creative folks would have hundreds of gigs stored there over years...

Northwestern athletic director Derrick Gragg will be leaving his role for a new one in the university -- VP for athletic strategy. Gragg told ESPN he will advise on major topics like NIL, revenue sharing, conference realignment. He will remain AD until his replacement is hired.
