A cool local DC link—Sculptor Ernest C. Bairstow, who carved the Gettysburg Address panel at the Lincoln Memorial, also carved the statues atop the Wilson Building

On this date in 1922, former At-Large Councilmember Julius Hobson was born. He served on the Board of Education from 1968-69 & on the Council as a member of the Statehood Party from 1975 until his death in 1977. He earned 3 Bronze Stars in the Army in WWII
