This weekend, the Museum hosted a program with Ashley Gorley for its in-depth interview series "Poets and Prophets." The series highlights songwriters who made significant contributions to country music. Gorley performed a few songs during the program, which was moderated by Museum writer-editor Allison Moorer and accompanied by photos, film, and recordings.

Last weekend, @Clint_Black marked the publication of his memoir, “Killin’ Time: My Life and Music,” with a conversation at the Museum. The conversation was led by acclaimed radio and television host Lorianne Crook.
Roy Rogers is the only person to be elected twice to the Country Music Hall of Fame: first in 1980 as a member of the original Sons of the Pioneers, and then in 1988 as an individual, for his own career achievements.

Jimmy Hughes, a smooth yet passionate R&B singer, helped put Muscle Shoals on the map with his 1964 Top Twenty pop hit “Steal Away.” Hughes, who died May 20, is featured prominently in the Museum’s current major exhibition “Muscle Shoals: Low Rhythm Rising.”

The series spotlights renowned musicians and session singers who have played important roles in support of artists in either the recording studio or on concert tours. The interview was moderated by Museum writer-editor Jon Freeman and illustrated with rare photos, film, and recordings.
