Heroes on four legs. 🐕🎖️
From the rubble of La Guaira to recognition — the search and rescue dogs of the #LACoFD Urban Search & Rescue Task Force (USA-2) were honored for their tireless work following Venezuela’s devastating earthquakes.
These dogs worked alongside their handlers through collapsed structures and dangerous debris, searching for survivors when hope was running thin.
Recognition like this reminds us that disaster response is a global effort — and sometimes the bravest first responders wear a harness instead of a badge.
🇻🇪🇺🇸 International solidarity, one search at a time.

Our Medical Team continues to connect with local medical personnel and hospital recon.
Medical Team Managers - Doctor Bosson, Doctor Kashani, and Doctor Whitfield - along with our amazing Medical Specialists are hard at work in Venezuela.

Yesterday (6/28), USA-2 remained on the ground in Venezuela, conducting 24/7 search & rescue operations across multiple collapsed structures.
Our mission is supported by elite canine teams trained in:
* Scent Detection: Trained to bypass destructive noise and hunt specifically for living humans in rubble.
* Rapid Response: When a dog alerts its handler to a “find,” rescue teams immediately move in to breach concrete and steel.
Alongside local first responders and international partners, our USA-2 team remains dedicated to this @StateDept mission, providing critical aid in this time of great need to the Venezuelan people.

Today, members remain focused on conducting search & rescue operations across multiple structures around the clock to reach potential survivors.
In partnership w/local first responders & fellow international teams, our members remain dedicated to this @StateDept mission, helping the people of Venezuela in this great time of need.
