I don’t care who the president is. The president doesn’t determine what time I get up or what I do first thing in the morning… and that’s 99% of success.
Even Jesus was doubted by his own brothers and sisters.
So if you think all your family and friends are going to rally behind your big goals and dreams, you’re gonna be disappointed.
That’s why you need to find your tribe and get to live events with other entrepreneurs who understand your drive
Prime your subconscious the night before. Tell your brain what you'll write/create tomorrow. This is how you wake up and get to work as fast as possible.
People have been ripping off my 10-3-2-1-0 Sleep Formula since I first wrote about it in The Perfect Day Formula.
It goes like this:
The 10-3-2-1-0 Formula
- 10 hours before bed — stop all caffeine
- 3 hours before bed — stop eating heavy meals and kick all the booze to the curb. Alcohol might help you fall asleep but you have very poor quality
sleep — you don't get into deep sleep, only superficial sleep
- 2 hours before bed — all work stops
- 1 hour before bed — reverse alarm, shut down electronics
- 0 — the number of times you're allowed to hit snooze in the morning
Jensen Huang once said, "An empty chair is better than a chair filled with the wrong person."
Lesson: Choose your people wisely…
- The wrong hire can cost you a ton of money.
- Toxic people will drag you down on Lonely Entrepreneur Island.
- And marrying the wrong person is the worst decision you can ever make.
Mark Twain once said, if your job is to eat a frog, best thing to do is eat that frog first thing in the morning.
And if your job is to eat two frogs, best thing to do is eat the biggest frog first.
What that means is that you should get up in the morning, and when you have the greatest willpower, discipline and attention, you must attack the most difficult task of your day.
"Your job as a leader is to make other people's visions of success fit inside your bigger vision." — Ed Mylett
Most people don't think big.
Your job: provide the hope, encouragement, and environment for them to flourish.
See in your team what they can't yet see in themselves.

The #1 rule for good sleep, taken from Dr. Matthew Walker’s book, “Why We Sleep” is…
Go to bed at the same time every night.
Get up at the same time every day.
Serious people do this. YOU must do this.
Jensen Huang believes most companies die from comfort, not competition.
Most businesses slow down because success lowers standards.
I’m not saying you have to work 70 hour weeks like Huang, but I am warning you to never get complacent in business…
Because that’s the wrong orientation and can wipe you out quickly.
Just ask Kodak, Blockbuster, and other industries disrupted by startups like Uber, AirBnb, etc.
But paranoia drives reinvention and innovation.
You don’t lack discipline… you’ve already proven it somewhere else in your life…. Stop focusing on where you “lack it”, and start thinking about where you’ve stacked it. Then transfer your winning ways over to every area of life.
You have to have your to-do list done the night before. If you're doing your to-do list in your morning routine, you're already too late.
You are throwing away the time of day when you have the greatest discipline, willpower, and intention on an activity that should have been done the night before
