It also has a full companion soundtrack tied to the story, which I’m really excited to share.
Came across this 2010 photo. I’d recently moved from EMS Captain to District Captain and posed in front of the District Chief’s new F-250 with a thumbs up. No real memory of why. Looking back, I see pride, exhaustion, and a career that quietly shaped who I became.

Took my family to the Florida Fire & EMS Conference. To the kids it felt like fire/EMS trick-or-treating, but they were also meeting firefighters and retired members who took time to encourage them.
Moments like this are why I write about the fire service. Legacy matters.
As a paramedic, I loved the 4 p.m.–midnight shift. The city at dusk felt alive—streetlights flickering, neon signs glowing, sky fading pink to blue. Even now, that hour reminds me: transitions can be just as beautiful as destinations.
When I was seven, I watched a firefighter collapse in a small-town parade. That moment led me into Fire/EMS. My memoir, SAVED BY SECONDS, shares the calls, the challenges, and the people who shaped my career. Available now: https://t.co/AOFoW646Ey #EMS#Memoir
@Flightgear_ATC I am going to be testing out my ATC equipment, so if any FlightGear pilots are up from 00:00 to 01:00 EDT (04:00 to 05:00 UCT/Zulu), I'll be controlling KPBI in Florida USA.
