@nysdotli Creative. But what happened to all the VMB signs along the NSP? They were taken down along with the gantries over a year ago? Those little portable ones on the shoulder usually never show any message or are illegible. Hopefully they're being replaced.!!!
NEW SVR TSTM WATCH until 9:pm
Many won't feel the full force but towns will. And where they occur, they will hit with fury. The atmosphere is really juiced up. Some tstms will contain damaging windgusts, hail, frqt ltng and downpours.
Stay alert for psbl warnings as they dvlpg
@nysdotli s/b & n/b M1-M5 needs repaving; M5-M6 needs a complete new roadbed. Worn down to slippery glass in rain. Please stop painting lines on seams and joints. The road always crumbles there! You fill the pot holes and then no lane stripes to be seen. Guiderails are destroyed too.
@nysdotli I'm happy to see this and all the lane miles being repaved. BUT, why has the MSP become the neglected step-child of @NYSDOTLI. ? It's great south of M9 but the rest is crumbling concrete and asphalt. The concrete from M6-M5 is from the 1930's!!! The last repairs fixed about 25%.
"But wait...there's more......."
This final band of this am snow, moving across L.I. is almost as intense as what we had Sun ngt. Vsby under 1 mile. 1 inch in just under an hr Everything is recovered. Hzds trvl again this am.
Should not last more than an hour or 2 tho
@Barrybi18432164 All suburbs N & NE rcvd 4-9" and that also was the highest for Dec in over 4 years. South of I-80, only 2-4 b/c of sleet. The key is, make sure you ignore the tremendous amt of misinfo and hype that these social-media mets post. I know our CBS2 folks made sure to word it that way
@Barrybi18432164 Hi Barry. Anyone talking about record snowfall were the ones who were spewing crap. My colleagues and I and the anchors were saying it was going to be the biggest storm in over 3 years. We got 4.3" in the City so indeed, the headline was correct; ----cont'd
@PhilKonigsberg Oh how sad Phil. And I was back on air this morning and wondered if he saw me. He frequently texted to tell me he got the people in the building to watch CBS2. May he rest in peace and bring blessings to his family
