Drafting Udoka Azubuike over Jaden McDaniels (especially when there were multiple people in the discussion room pounding the table for Jaden) capped the ceiling on that Utah team.
Quite literally might be the worst draft pick in Jazz history.
Thank you Dennis Lindsey
Lifelong SLC resident here. Although I agree with your take, we want the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament and maybe an occasional Sweet 16 and regional final. I like the idea of the opening round (six games) rotating between Albuquerque and Boise.
My vote for the western site for NCAA opening round (six games): Salt Lake City.
Good logistics, good bb state, history of hosting. But Utah would need help - responsibility can't be left to the local school
“A whole lot of stupid transpired.”
Exactly what we have all been saying every time we see the B1G logo on the grass at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum and hardwood at Pauley Pavilion.
The MWC and Pac-12 TV deals are more similar than different and neither gains a real advantage over the other for exposure or money.
Once again, the egos kept people from doing what was obvious - merge.
A whole lot of stupid transpired.
The game of college football is still the most beautiful, amazing game.
Everything else about college football outside of those 60 minutes is abysmal. Everything else is just the absolute worst.
It can’t go on like this. It needs fixing in the worst way. Someone please.
USC won the Pac-12 in football just once in its 13 year existence, played in only one Rose Bowl, and never qualified for the CFP. Oregon, Washington, Stanford, and Utah all enjoyed much more success than the Trojans.
College basketball season isn’t the same without Bill Walton. Everybody do yourself a favor and read Bill’s autobiography, “Back from the Dead.” It’s a masterclass on positivity and appreciating the physical beauty of our surroundings.
Remembering Bill today, what would have been his 73rd birthday ❤️

Tough day to look at this Big 12 Media Day photo! great dudes who brought made us relevant again and helped bring us first conference title in decades. From 3-9 to 11-3 isn’t forgotten here. Looking forward to great atmosphere in Ames.
Whittingham said "if you think you're smarter than the analytics, you're not." Adds that there's some asterisks to that.
Said they pay attention closely to the analytics, but they don't follow them all the time. Said many were "easy" calls to go for it on 4th down.
@Joshua_Newman We are less than 50 days away from the Runnin’ Utes opening at the Huntsman Center against San José State. What are your initial thoughts on what Alex Jensen & co. have done, and if they have a realistic opportunity of finishing 8th or 9th in the rugged Big XII.
Tell me you know nothing about the college football two week tv selection process without telling me you know nothing about the college football two week tv selection process.
This is like saying you prefer the Red Roof Inn over a full service Marriott. Come on, Alex. @BuceesUSA is the gold standard. Cannot wait to welcome them to the great state of Utah.
Should have temporarily moved to SLC. Every single game would have been sold out at Smith’s Ballpark, and the entire Wasatch Front would have embraced the A’s.
The original perfect NBA tank back in 1996-97. A 60 win Spurs team gets manhandled by the Jazz in the second round of the NBA Playoffs and decides to throw the entire next season. How the Spurs have 5 NBA titles and the Jazz have none will never sit well with so many. @sluhm
Watching my first NBA playoff game of the season. Turns out, half the old Jazz are on Minnesota. Ingles, Connolly, Gobert...and Mitchell is on the #1 seed. But yeah, blow it up for drafts.....🤔🧐
I miss the days when college basketball coaches dressed like professionals. I especially miss seeing Dana Altman in his white pressed shirt and suit pants looking like an EQ President soliciting volunteers for their time at the Murray cannery on a Wednesday afternoon. #iykyk
Pac-12 legacy schools really traded up as it pertains to conference tournament locations. I mean who wouldn’t want to be in Kansas City, MO or Indianapolis, IN over Las Vegas, NV. What a completely tragedy.
