We often rate outfielders based on their ability to do acrobatic dives but the way these three covered ground in outfield and maintained balance while completing catches was second to none. Kanitkar's catch in the outfield to dismiss Inzamam in Australia was probably one of the coldest outfield catches ever.

Reason why I was lamenting the lack of (proper) home grown commentators and podcasters on Pakistan cricket. Bazid is a commentator on ICC panel. Here he is propping up pointless India based conspiracy when England in Bazball era has been playing on flatbeds at home for two years. Where is his professional integrity as a "cricket" expert?

Insult by association is the worst kind of insult. You see something you detest, but then someone puts you in the same set through some association.

This is the exact reason why I don't enjoy India vs Pakistan games anymore. Especially the celebratory gloating over the results. Coz anything that puts us in the same sentence as them makes me uncomfortable.

It may be factual or based on conspiracy. If you comolememt my home while comparing it to a traim wreck, I won't feel happy about it. In cricket, the only benchmark for us is results against SENA. Celebrating anything else is demotion by association.

Pakistan threatened Lord’s Test boycott after broadcaster Sky Sports telecast interview with Imran Khan’s two sons which was actually recorded at the Lord’s Long Room a day before the Test. PCB wanted SKY not to air the interview during Lunch break else they wouldn’t take the field post Lunch.
The 18-min interview done by Michael Atherton (one of the 21 captains to sign the letter to Pak PM) was shown and Pak did take the field too

Even the greatest spinners struggle against a batter who can rock back to anything that is marginally short. Padikkal's backfoot play against spin reminds me of Damien Martyn against peak Kumble and Harbhajan in 2004. His hundred in Chennai to save the Test defending everything off the backfoot gets less credit than it should.

Rafa is the second best sports documentary I have seen after Last dance. But it is the most relatable. Jordan was a demigod, an alien. Built in a lab, destined to achieve greatness. Untouchable realm.

Rafa suffered from anxiety. An anxiety that was visible on court when he adjusted his water bottles. Yet he went on. The mid career slump is something a lot of us struggle with. Rafa's greatness was built on the ability to suffer more than others. Every middle class kid who managed to beat the odds and achieve financial freedom would relate to that. But pure struggle doesn't put you in the realm of GOATs.

As Carlos said, at that point of his career, he needed to show his opponents who he is. When struggle is the only weapon that has taken you the distance so far, you tend to count on it too much even after achieving success. But the ladder to the highest chair takes the ability to believe in yourself, the ability to relax and to instil fear in those who stand in your way.
