UCLA beat South Carolina 79-51 for their first-ever women's NCAA title. The pre-game handshake between Cori Close and Dawn Staley at Phoenix's Mortgage Matchup Center said more than the scoreboard did.
Close has coached at UCLA for 15 years, built a 358-144 record, and has
publicly said she doesn't know how much longer she can do this.
When a coach wins the biggest game of her career and the first question people are asking is "was that her last?" — what does that say about what we're asking of women in this sport?

Belarus President Lukashenko gifted Kim Jong Un a VSK-100 assault rifle on his first-ever official visit to Pyongyang — joking it was "in case enemies appear." Kim literally mock-reloaded it on camera and laughed.
The two then signed a Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation,
reinforcing an axis already aligned with Russia. Belarus plans mass production of the VSK-100 by end of 2026.

A dog on live rail tracks. Emergency crew in full sprint. A commuter on the platform with a phone: "This is EXACTLY why I take the train."
Funny? Yes. But also — how did the dog get there, and who's responsible? Is this a transit system gap, a pet
safety issue, or just content that performs well?

Trump just signed an executive order to restrict mail-in voting — weeks after casting his own mail ballot in Florida.
The order directs DHS + SSA to build federal citizenship voter lists and restricts USPS from delivering ballots to anyone not on them.
Animal rights activists entered a Louis Vuitton store in London, calling on the luxury brand to go fur-free.
The group, connected to RAGE Activism, staged the in-store action as part of a wider push against LVMH brands that continue to sell real mink, fox, and raccoon dog fur —
while much of the fashion industry has already moved away from animal fur.
Passion-driven protest, or does the bigger question sit with the brand? Read more at the link.

A man voluntarily cleans UK road signs for free — in real time, no edits — and millions watch every scrub.
His name is Liam Wildish aka @liamthesignguy, a former window cleaner from Nottinghamshire. Satisfying?
Absolutely. But when a private citizen is doing what the highways
department is funded to do, is the real story the clean sign or the neglected system behind it?

If you think any of the material in this post shouldn't be
Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi on April 2 — days after she reportedly pleaded with him to stay.
The reason: frustration over her handling of the Epstein files and DOJ's inability to prosecute his political rivals.
Todd Blanche — Trump's own former criminal defense
lawyer — is now acting AG. She's the second Cabinet member out in weeks. Still subpoenaed to testify before Congress.
Accountability move, political chess, or just profit in power?
