Lithuania is proud to join the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia. Our accession reflects a clear commitment to international law, respect for sovereignty, and the peaceful settlement of disputes.
#ASEAN is Lithuania’s increasingly important partner in trade, innovation, energy and cybersecurity. As we prepare for Lithuania’s #EU Council Presidency in 2027, we look forward to further strengthening the EU–ASEAN partnership and working together for peace, stability and shared prosperity.

In Manila today, I visited the Philippine Coast Guard Headquarters and discussed regional security challenges, maritime security& the importance of upholding international law.
#Lithuania stands firmly for freedom of navigation, respect for UNCLOS, and the peaceful resolution of disputes. Security in the Indo-Pacific and Europe is increasingly interconnected, making cooperation among like-minded partners more important than ever.
We highly value the Philippines’ efforts to strengthen maritime security and look forward to closer cooperation on resilience, critical infrastructure protection, cybersecurity, and addressing hybrid threats.

Neutrality must not become a cover for normalising aggression. Russia and Belarus have no place in international events. #Lithuania calls on the #EU to agree that Member States should not host competitions featuring either country.
We must maintain the international isolation of the aggressors. #FAC

Met with #UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh to discuss Lithuania–UAE relations, security in the Middle East, and EU–UAE cooperation.
Lithuania condemns #Iran’s attacks on the UAE and other countries in the region. We stand in solidarity with the UAE and support efforts to strengthen regional security and stability.
The #EU is heading into the summer holiday with unfinished business still on the table.
There's no agreement 21st sanctions package. Commercial interests can't come before security.
We must also advance #Ukraine’s accession talks and unblock €6.6 billion under the European Peace Facility.

Another disgraceful decision. While Russia continues its terror against #Ukraine - bombing cities, killing civilians and destroying lives - the #IOC chooses to reward the aggressor. A while ago, this was done with Belarus, now – with Russia. It's nothing else, but appeasement at the expense of justice and the Olympic values.
From air policing to air defence: #Ankara marks a major step forward for NATO’s security in the Baltic region.
The most important result of the #NATOSummit decision for Lithuania is NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission transformation to an Air Defence, with faster response times and greater operational flexibility on the Alliance’s eastern flank.
The summit also unlocked major new defence commitments: Allies will provide €70bn annually for Ukraine over the next two years, boost defence spending by an additional €139bn, and invest €50bn in defence industry contracts.
The message from Ankara is clear: NATO is investing more, delivering more, and strengthening its ability to defend every inch of Allied territory.
Good meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova Valeriu Chiveri in Vilnius today.
Strong, united and resilient #Moldova, fully integrated into the #EU is of paramount importance to the security of the wider region and of the European continent.
My key point in an interview with the BBC at the #NATOSummit in Ankara was that defence spending targets are not simply about numbers or percentages - they are about building the real capabilities needed to defend our people and territory.

Speaking to the BBC in Ankara, I stressed that the best deterrent against any potential Russian offensive is a strong @NATO forward presence in the Baltic States. Allied troops are there for real defence - every inch of #NATO territory must be protected from day one.

Deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Senator Lindsey Graham. My heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues, and the American people.
Senator Graham was a good friend of Lithuania, a strong advocate for transatlantic unity and an unwavering supporter of Ukraine. His commitment to the values of democracy, security, and international partnership earned him the respect and gratitude of many across Europe. His voice will be missed, but his legacy will endure.
At the #AnkaraSummit, together with President @GitanasNauseda and Minister of Defense @robertas_kaunas, we are sending a clear message from Lithuania to our Allies: it's time to turn pledges into capabilities.
Join the 5% Club!
This is what all #NATO Allies committed to. #Lithuania is already in the 5% Club, but it's pretty lonely over here.
Security isn't built on promises - it’s built on capabilities backed by investment. If we are serious about deterrence, 5% for defence must be the floor, not the ceiling. Less talk. More action.
