Gustav Mahler died exactly 115 years ago, but his music is still very much alive – and beloved by audiences all over.

As it happens, the composer’s Ninth Symphony can now also be heard on our newly released Mahler box set... 🎶

It has been our great honour to perform this pivotal work during our European tour. And an even greater honour to bring it home this week.

Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor is intimate, melancholic, and intimate in character. It gives voice to the pain and sorrow the composer was living with, yet still holds a gentle joy.

On tour, we played it with Sol Gabetta almost every evening – and we’d happily keep going.
