This week, we are proud to recognize Stacy McWhite for her commitment to helping someone in need. While traveling to the start of her assigned route, Stacy encountered a man in obvious physical distress who stepped in front of her bus and was unable to move. Recognizing that the individual needed immediate assistance, she made the compassionate decision to bring him onboard and personally helped him onto the bus after realizing he could not board on his own. Once safely aboard, the individual informed Stacy that he needed urgent medical attention. She immediately contacted the Control Center, allowing emergency medical services to respond quickly and transport him to Wilmington Hospital for treatment. Stacy's quick thinking and selfless actions caused her to place the health and safety of another person above the routine demands of her job. Her unwavering commitment to serving others truly embodies the Heart of DART.
