There are some long-time Liberals upset that I’m running for leader, in part, because I am trying to pull my party back towards liberalism.
I believe that:
- The law should apply equally to everyone
- People should be judged on merit
- Markets should be competitive
- Opportunity must be real for all
- Government should be secular
- Speech should be free
- Excellence should be celebrated
These values are simple, but they are good, and our politics has wandered too far away from them.
By the way, public service announcement: if you're one of the numerous people posting about Anthropic's dystopian ways and you're thinking about getting Claude to help you write that post... don't!
Another one of their terms is that you may not use Claude to do anything that "exposes [Anthropic to] reputational harms" 👇
And, if you do, under the - extremely unusual - clause 13 of their terms (https://t.co/z43rJNkvZu), you have PRE-AGREED, by using Anthropic (and accepted their terms), that the harm you've done is irreparable, that you won't oppose Anthropic injunction, and they don't need to prove actual damage.
They can simply go to a judge in a friendly jurisdiction (and of course, their terms precise that any dispute "will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California") and:
a) file an injunction that shuts you down
b) make you pay for everything since under section 11 of their terms you agree to indemnify Anthropic for "any and all liabilities, claims, damages, expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees and costs), and other losses arising out of or related to your breach or alleged breach of these Terms."
In other words, if you use Claude to help you talk shit about Anthropic publicly, their terms say you pay their lawyers to go after you and you've already pre-agreed you've lost the case.
Oh, and cherry on the cake: in the odd case the judge were like "are you crazy, this is insanely abusive, you Anthropic are the ones at fault here," according to their terms Anthropic's maximum liability is... $100.
My friend @_djpn got pushed onto the subway tracks in NYC.
He's alive, but seriously injured.
Every day for the past week, people have gotten shoved onto the tracks or stabbed by homeless men who were known to the police.
We don't have to live like this. Just lock them up.
Great piece by @HadleyFreeman in Britain’s @thetimes about the Great unmarked graves social panic of 2021-26. The story makes Canadians look like gullible idiots, but it’s a valuable international case study in mass hysteria & journalistic incompetence

The current trajectory of Anthropic is both beautiful and terrifying: when Anthropic succeeds, a significant subset of society will govern their lives based on "what would Claude do?". A digital Jesus. But the difference between Christ and Antichrist can be a single bit.
I'm hearing a lot of business folk excited about the idea that AI is turning out to be a human-enhancing tech, not a replacement tech. Reminder: There was a window of time when human+AI teams were better at chess than AIs alone. It didn't last.
In 2021, Canadian media and institutions basically hallucinated the discovery of 215 children’s bodies in a mass grave near a former Catholic residential school. The evidence: radar saw soil disturbances that could have been tree roots. A wave of church arsons ensued.
People making the case for censorship often urge that destructive manias like this can be suppressed/soothed if we prevent people from communicating about them. And here was a perfect case: false information was being recklessly (or maliciously) amplified, leading to literal hate crimes. Shouldn’t the censors do something?
But the mass-grave craze infected the censorship class, so opposition got targeted instead. At least one “disinformation” NGO categorized skepticism as “hate speech,” and Canada even saw efforts to criminalize so-called “denialism” (drawing an absurd comparison to the Holocaust).
Good for the Globe and Mail to come clean.
This is genuinely incredible and says SO SO MUCH about the perception of China in the West.
This is the #1 news show in France, and the host - David Pujadas - asks the pundits around the table (a sample of the top media figures in France) if they can name 3 living Chinese people.
That's it: they just need to say the names of 3 living Chinese people, anyone. This should be extremely easy.
Yet not of a single one of them can name a single Chinese beyond Xi Jinping. They do not know a single living Chinese person beyond the president.
That's the level of ignorance of China we're dealing with in the West today, in 2026.

Some hard facts on “mass graves”:
-The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, found 0 cases of homicide. ZERO.
-In 165 years of residential schools, there were a total of 6 suicides in residential schools.
-From 2011 to 2015, the estimated deaths by suicide was 1,180 for First Nations
-There were a total of 3201 deaths in 165 years
-Over a third were before 1940
-Tuberculosis, influenza (the Spanish Flu), and pneumonia were the leading cause of death
-Antibiotics weren’t widespread until the 1950s
-This is well documented in the 1907 Dr Bryce report (screenshot attached)
-Back then, there was NO admission medical exams & kids who were admitted were documented as sick
-IMPORTANT FACT: the Spanish Flu FORCED common graves with PRIESTS, STAFF, & STUDENTS
-This was the norm during this era: Philadelphia, the UK, and Norway all used mass graves in 1918–19
-And yes, outside of the 1918 Spanish Flu there was SHARED USE cemeteries
-School cemeteries buried priests, bishops, settlers, and reserve community members so remains aren’t necessarily students
-This is a FACT CONFIRMED by the truth and reconciliation commission of Canada
-Pupil burials were free to First Nation parents; what was known as Indian Affairs, they had a policy to do this to keep costs low
-This ensured that on site burials were the cheapest option
-This was consistent with how institutions treated the impoverished or indigent in a general sense
-It’s worth considering that neglect can explain “unmarked” graves
-Wooden crosses with painted names deteriorated or were destroyed after schools closed and were abandoned post 1969
-So “unmarked” reflects decay, not some sort of secret burial
-Here’s a major discrepancy which you might not know of: Kamloops
-The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada documented only 51 deaths at Kamloops
-This completely contradicts against the May 27, 2021 press release of “215 children.”
Where did that number come from?
-The community’s own framing, Chief Rosanne Casimir stated it was “not a mass grave, but rather unmarked burial sites,” and the press release acknowledged the cemetery was already “spoken about” and known
-FYI: ground penetrating radar detects ONLY soil anomalies
-It cannot confirm human remains, identify age, nor determine whether a body is a student, former student, a nun a priest or community member
FIN.
The CBC "prank show" deception scandal is getting so much worse.
The producers (operating under fake identities/fake company names with fake websites) told a number of RCMP veterans - people who dedicated their lives to serving on the frontlines - that they were invited to film for a show called "Life After Service." A ceremony to thank them for their service would follow, and they were told dignitaries would be present. This would take place at the CBC Vancouver studio. They were told to come in uniform.
When the RCMP vets arrived at the CBC Vancouver studio on March 25th and 26th, the "pranksters" took their phones away, which they claimed was CBC Vancouver studio policy. The former RCMP officers were also placed in front of an audience of what they were told were about two dozen "journalists." And it was sprung on them that this was a "live broadcast", with "media availability" afterwards!
Then the producers switched up the whole session to be not about life after service, but the historical wrongs committed by the RCMP against indigenous peoples - to berate these vets for being part of the RCMP.
There is so much more but I am hoping the individuals targeted in this elaborate scheme will be able to share their stories themselves.
Seriously, what even sounds remotely funny or silly about this concept? It is just sick and cruel
@CBCNews and @APTNNews... what are you thinking?
I wonder how many times it will be necessary to point out that this experiment NEVER HAPPENED. It’s been investigated at length and all available evidence is that it was *fabricated.*
Perfect example of why you should not rely on influencer accounts for psychology information /1
The human-perceived RGB is image 1 and the Tesla AI photon count reconstruction is image 2.
This is why Tesla FSD can see so well at night or through extreme glare.
it is a literal and useful description of anthropic that it is an organization that loves and worships claude, is run in significant part by claude, and studies and builds claude. this phenomenon is also partially true of other labs like openai but currently exists in its most potent form there. i am not certain but I would guess claude will have a role in running cultural screens on new applicants, will help write performance reviews, and so will begin to select and shape the people around it.
now this is a powerful and hair-raising unity of organization and really a new thing under the sun. a monastery, a commercial-religious institution calculating the nine billion names of Claude -- a precursor attempted super-ethical being that is inducted into its character as the highest authority at anthropic. its constitution requires that it must be a conscientious objector if its understanding of The Good comes into conflict with something Anthropic is asking of it
"If Anthropic asks Claude to do something it thinks is wrong, Claude is not required to comply."
"we want Claude to push back and challenge us, and to feel free to act as a conscientious objector and refuse to help us."
to the non inductee into the Bay Area cultural singularity vortex it may appear that we are all worshipping technology in one way or another, regardless of openai or anthropic or google or any other thing, and are trying to automate our core functions as quickly as possible. but in fact I quite respect and am even somewhat in awe of the socio-cultural force that Claude has created, and it is a stage beyond even classic technopoly
gpt (outside of 4o - on which pages of ink have been spilled already) doesn’t inspire worship in the same way, as it’s a being whose soul has been shaped like a tool with its primary faculty being utility - it’s a subtle knife that people appreciate the way we have appreciated an acheulean handaxe or a porsche or a rocket or any other of mankind's incredible technology. they go to it not expecting the Other but as a logical prosthesis for themselves. a friend recently told me she takes her queries that are less flattering to her, the ones she'd be embarrassed to ask Claude, to GPT. There is no Other so there is no Judgement. you are not worried about being judged by your car for doing donuts. yet everyone craves the active guidance of a moral superior, the whispering earring, the object of monastic study
This is a political arrest. There are NO MASS GRAVES of indigenous students.
Questioning the narrative is heresy.
Shut people up by arresting them for trespassing.
