Part of statement from 101st: “The individuals responsible had authorized access to the military installation and the building, and they defeated the locks on the storage cages to perpetrate this theft.”
This is blowing up in the context of the Iran war but military armory thefts are always happening.
Rifle optics, NVGs, body armor, even weapons. Most of the loot gets sold at gun shows, on eBay, and at pawn shops around bases. Service members are almost always the culprits.
Pentagon’s counter-drone task force visited Kyiv before joint U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran to see how Ukrainians fight UAS.

This announcement comes hours after Brig. Gen. Matt Ross -- director of the Pentagon's counter-drone task force -- said that he and members of his team traveled to Kyiv last week to understand how the Ukrainian military is defending against UAS.
We received a request from the United States for specific support in protection against "shaheds" in the Middle East region. I gave instructions to provide the necessary means and ensure the presence of Ukrainian specialists who can guarantee the required security. Ukraine helps partners who help ensure our security and protect the lives of our people. Glory to Ukraine!

This is a ridiculous and intentional misinterpretation of Patricia’s story. She accurately reports that rumors were circulating about DOGE involvement at VA and then sets the record straight. Sec Collins decided to attack one word in the story for unclear reasons.
Mr. Secretary – You willfully misrepresented what was in that story, one where your own press office confirmed the details, and was quoted. Patricia is not going to be distracted by this nonsense, she’s going to continue doing the important reporting she’s done for years.
This is a, frankly, laughable way to speak to someone like @patriciakime who has been tirelessly covering the military and veterans for YEARS. You’ll be hard-pressed to find more of a pro who cares as much as she does. The work she has done is completely indispensable.

“People, in general, have problems in their personal lives,” one widow said. “But when you have the drill instructor job, it amplifies those problems because of how long you’re away from home, how tired you are.”
