BREAKING
Biafra Defense Forces (BDF) on the Hudson Institute Conference, Washington — 28 August 2026
The Biafra Defense Forces commend the Hudson Institute and the Ben Franklin Fellowship for convening the conference on Nigeria’s crisis of Islamist terrorists, violent nomadic herders, bandit gangs, and U.S. policy.
We appreciate the organizers as the first prominent international platform to acknowledge the existence of the BDF and our sacred duty to defend our land, our people, and our territory.
Nigeria remains a Country of Particular Concern for severe violations of religious freedom. Christians continue to face targeted militia attacks. The BDF exists to protect Biafran communities that the Nigerian state has failed to secure.
We welcome serious discussion in Washington and call for recognition of the right of Biafrans to self-defense and self-determination.
BDF Command
The defence of the Fatherland is a sacred duty, not a choice. Every true son and daughter of Biafra bears this obligation to protect our land, our people, and our future.
The Biafra Defense Force (BDF) accepts this charge without hesitation. We remain ready, disciplined, and resolute. We will guard our territory, deter aggression, and stand with our people until the Fatherland is secure and free.
This is our covenant. We will not rest.
BREAKING
The Biafra Defense Council (#BDC) has concluded a major shake-up, including the deployment and redeployment of officers and soldiers of our armed forces.
Details coming soon.
BIAFRA DEFENSE FORCE REMARK ON TODAY IN HISTORY
Today marks the Biafra National Day of Mourning.
On 6 July 1967, the Nigerian military invaded Biafra through the eastern flank of Cross River State — precisely Gakem in present-day Ogoja area.
However, the Biafra Defense Forces (Biafra Army) mounted a fierce and heroic resistance against the invaders. This brave stand marked the official beginning of the Biafra-Nigeria War.

The Biafra Naval Force has successfully secured territorial control over the liberated Atabong East and Idabato areas of the Bakassi Peninsula. Our forces now exercise effective control over these waterways and determine what enters our territorial waters.
This represents a commendable achievement by General David Black and his gallant men.
OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
From the Office of the Biafra Defense Forces (BDF)
Date: 30th May 2026
To: All Biafrans Worldwide, Global Partners, and Friends of Biafra,
Dear Biafrans, at home and in the Diaspora,
It is with great pride and strategic resolve that the Biafra Defense Forces (BDF) hereby announces the formal establishment and activation of two critical new units within the Biafra Defense community:
The Biafra Defense Intelligence Agency (BDIA)
The Biafra Special Operations Command (BDSOC)
These two specialized units represent a significant enhancement of our defensive and operational capabilities. The Biafra Defense Intelligence Agency will focus on intelligence gathering, analysis, counter-intelligence, and strategic information operations to safeguard Biafran interests. The Biafra Special Operations Command will undertake high-precision, specialized missions, rapid response operations, and advanced tactical engagements as required for the defense of our people and territory.
Important Command Clarification:
Both the Biafra Defense Intelligence Agency (BDIA) and the Biafra Special Operations Command (BD_SOC) shall NOT operate under the direct command of the Commander General of the Biafra Defense Forces. They will maintain independent operational mandates while coordinating at the highest strategic levels of defense leadership.
This deliberate structural arrangement strengthens checks and balances, enhances professionalism, and aligns with best practices in modern defense architecture for a sovereign Biafran state.
We call on all Biafrans — at home and abroad — to rally behind these new formations with full support, discipline, and patriotism. This is another milestone in our collective journey toward the full restoration of Biafra’s sovereignty.
Biafra is rising.
The struggle continues.
Victory is certain.
Signed,
Chairman joint chief of staff
For the Biafra Defense Council (BDC)
TRIBUTE TO OUR FALLEN HEROES AND HEROINES BY THE BIAFRA DEFENSE FORCES BDF
They stood like iron on the battlefield,
When the thunder of war shook the ancient soil.
No fear in their eyes, only fire in their veins,
Defending the Motherland through blood and through pain.
From the trenches of Owerri to the hills of Umuahia,
They charged into death with the cry of “Biafra!”
Mothers’ sons, fathers’ pride, brothers in arms,
They paid the supreme price — with no thought of harm.
Heroes eternal! Fallen but never gone!
You gave your tomorrow so our seed may live on!
Supreme sacrifice on the altar of freedom,
Your blood waters the land — Biafra shall bloom!
Ozoemena! Ozoemena!
We shall remember! We shall remember!
Bullets tore flesh but could not break the soul,
Starvation and bombs tried to swallow you whole.
Yet you fought like lions for the rising sun,
Till the last man standing, till the battle was won.
Ogbugo, Nzeogwu, Achuzie, and the unnamed brave,
Your names are engraved on the heart of every grave.
You did not die in vain — your spirit marches still,
In every true son and daughter who carries the will.
Bridge (Spoken with power, then building)
You paid the ultimate price — life for the land!
You traded your breath so Biafra could stand!
No medal, no pension, no victory parade,
But history will thunder the stand that you made.
Your blood cries from the ground, it refuses to rest,
It fuels the fire burning deep in our chest!
Heroes immortal! Defenders of the soil!
Supreme price paid — your legacy unspoiled!
Motherland weeps, but she rises again,
Because of your courage, because of your pain.
Biafra! Biafra! Land of the Rising Sun!
Your fallen heroes — the war was not won…
But your spirit lives on… FOREVER WON!
In this journey of freedom, our resistance against oppression by the evil Islamic terrorist state of Nigeria will be shielded by hope — the firm reassurance of our eventual victory.
From the Biafra Defense Force family:
Happy Easter to all Biafran Christians and to every persecuted Christian around the world.
Happy Easter!
The entirety of the Biafra Defense Force #BDF is under the one and only known government called the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), in which Honorable Ogechukwu Nkere is the Prime Minister
FROM BIAFRA DEFENSE FORCE INTELLIGENT UNIT
The Nigerian government and its military can no longer pretend that all is well in the Biafra region.
Currently, they are preparing for a heavy conventional confrontation with the Biafra Defense Forces (#BDF). It is going to be an open war.
We encourage all Biafrans to brace up because this is the final stage. Be on high alert.
The Biafra Liberation Army (#BLA) and other relevant units of the Biafra Defense Forces are closely monitoring the situation in Onitsha Main Market with keen interest.
Should any Biafran be harmed, killed, arrested, or molested, we will have no option but to deploy special forces to protect our people. Soludo is hereby warned accordingly.
The Biafra Defense Council (BDC) expresses deep concern regarding the distraction created by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike’s recent announcement appointing a so-called Prime Minister to an internal government structure.
Since the founding of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in 2000, Chief Uwazuruike has not achieved any measurable progress toward the restoration of Biafra’s sovereignty. At a critical moment—when the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), alongside emerging de facto governance structures within the homeland, is advancing the Biafran cause on the international stage—this unilateral move risks sowing confusion and undermining collective efforts.
The BDC urges Chief Uwazuruike to exercise restraint and responsibility. The pursuit of Biafra’s self-determination demands unity of purpose, strategic discipline, and credibility before the international community. Actions that distract from or dilute this mission do a disservice to the aspirations of the Biafran people.
The Biafra Defense Council remains committed to a focused, coordinated, and internationally credible struggle for the realization of Biafra’s legitimate rights.
