He visited Sona Pend village, where several residential houses and a mosque were damaged in a recent cloudburst.

Earlier, he chaired a meeting at Sogam to review ongoing development works and issues requiring immediate attention.

DIPR has announced cash prizes across nine award categories to recognise excellence in filmmaking during the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK) 2026, scheduled from September 7–10 at SKICC Srinagar, Gulmarg and Jammu.

The awards will celebrate creative excellence, technical craftsmanship, individual performances and emerging cinematic talent, providing filmmakers and artists a platform for recognition.

The initiative reflects DIPR’s commitment to building a strong ecosystem for cinematic talent and excellence in Jammu & Kashmir.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg today reviewed proposed road projects for Srinagar aimed at improving urban mobility, easing traffic congestion and strengthening the city’s transport network.

Div Com directed the Commissioner SMC to submit the final report assessing the projects’ likely impact on traffic decongestion and mobility.

He stressed coordinated planning to ensure road projects are technically sound, environmentally responsible and aligned with Srinagar’s mobility needs.

Chief Minister today chaired a review meeting to address waterlogging and Srinagar’s growing drainage challenges. Reviewing SMC’s proposed five-year plan, he emphasised the restoration of natural drains, enhancement of dewatering capacity and separation of sewerage from stormwater.

The Chief Minister directed SMC to formulate emergency SOPs for swift response during heavy rainfall, alongside a sustainable long-term drainage plan. He also called for a civic awareness campaign against dumping polythene and other waste into drains.

MLAs from Srinagar district and senior officials attended the meeting.

Chief Minister addressed the valedictory ceremony of the Quaternary Healthcare & Research Summit, organised by SKIMS at SKICC, Srinagar.

Led by Mahamandleshwar Swami Vishavatmanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, the procession commenced from Dashnami Akhara Mandir and proceeded to the sacred Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Shrine at Rajpura, Mandi.

Minister for Agriculture Production, Javid Ahmad Dar undertook a day-long tour of Reasi district, inaugurating and laying foundation stones for several development projects.

The projects aim to strengthen rural infrastructure, Panchayati Raj institutions and livestock-related services.
