Hard to believe that it's already the 5th anniversary of the release of my 7th studio album, "Our Pathetic Age." In the context of my full career, I view the record as being ambitious and far-reaching, but also dripping with palpable dread. Appropriate, then, that it preceded the onslaught of COVID by just a few months.

When the calendar turned to 2024, I had high hopes of finally being able to do the type of massive tour I used to do in the old days...a month in Europe, a month on a bus in the US.  And now here we are, the first day of my fourth and final big run of the year.

There's been tons of highlights, but overall I'm really just grateful for the opportunity.  Take tonight, for example: I'm in Kansas City, a place I only get to perform once or twice every decade.

For me, the album in my catalogue which most fits this description just so happens to be turning 13 today:  The Less You Know, The Better.  I love it like a parent loves a child, but it's still hard for me to listen to objectively.  I hope someday it has its due.

Every artist, if they're around long enough, will have a "difficult" album...defined as a body of work which didn't pull together easily, due to a variety of behind-the-scenes issues.
