In a last-ditch effort, I contacted the thief (a web designer) who stole the domains from a non-profit.

Gave him a chance to push the domains. He won't. Once we file the UDRP his name will be everywhere.

The SEO industry may be entering another familiar cycle. This time, instead of companies buying backlinks to manipulate traditional search rankings, marketers are beginning to experiment with buying brand mentions intended to influence AI-generated responses in Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, and other large language model systems.

At the Search Central Live Shanghai 2026 event on May 15th, Gary Illyes from Google reportedly warned against buying or manipulating brand mentions for the purpose of appearing in AI-generated answers and AI search experiences.

Update on this: the registrar is officially saying that they are acknowledging that the account was hacked and the domain transferred without permission.

But it WAS NOT THEIR FAULT that the account was hacked, so they will not request a transfer undo.

Stolen domain name. Response from registrar:

"it has been determined that the unauthorized transfer or loss of the domain was due to negligence or a security lapse on the part of the original account owner."

Domain was stolen. Transferred to another registrar.

Owner reached out to their registrar.

"Sorry, you didn't secure your account well enough. We can't help you. Talk to the gaining registrar."

Trying to get more info, but that just doesn't seem right.
