I can’t believe Oprah said my name! I can’t wait to experience the sisterhood of 3 women who share 1 unbreakable bond in #TheColorPurple This take on our beloved classic is directed by Blitz Bazawule & produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders & Quincy Jones.
Excited to share a thrilling thank you to @NABSE_org and all educators as well as a very special congratulatory message from Oprah Winfrey ( @Oprah ) to our newly installed @NABSE_org president @drgoffney! 🎉 #NABSE51#ColorPurple

We not only have the Spirit of the Lord upon us, but He lives within us. Jesus promised that the “Helper” He would send would be with us all the time. Jesus has given you “grace to go” for every situation and to overcome every challenge.
Today’s Hope: The Group Picture
Get in the picture.
Not after you lose the weight.
Not when your hair looks better.
Not when you’re wearing the perfect outfit.
Now.
We take pictures because life moves quickly.
Children grow.
People change.
Families evolve.
Friends move away.
And one day, the picture you almost avoided may become one of the ones you treasure most.
The people who love you aren’t studying your imperfections.
They’re happy you’re there.
Stop documenting everyone else’s life while disappearing from your own.
Hand somebody the camera.
Stand close.
Smile.
You’re part of the memory too.
Stay hopeful 💛

My third stop of the day was @AldineMS_AISD with Principal Jose Diaz! I enjoyed getting into classrooms, connecting with students and staff, and seeing the work happening across the campus. Thank you, Principal Diaz and Team Aldine Middle, for the work you do each day to help our students learn, grow, and thrive.

My second stop of the day was @JonesMs_AISD with Principal Dr. Brooks! I loved seeing the energy in the classrooms and students engaged in meaningful learning. These campus visits are always a great reminder that instructional excellence comes to life through the daily work of our teachers, leaders, and students. Thank you, Dr. Brooks and Team Jones, for a great visit and for continuing to keep students at the center of the work!

Today I started my morning at @LewisMS_AISD with Principal, Dr. Carrier! What a blessing to see instructional excellence in action.
There’s something special about walking classrooms, seeing students engaged in learning, and watching teachers bring lessons to life. I’m grateful for Dr. Carrier and the entire Lewis team for the way they show up for students.
Great things are happening at Lewis MS one classroom at a time. #ChooseAldine
The Scripture says, “David encouraged himself in the Lord His God.” He kept his mind focused on the right things. Not the betrayal, not the offense, not the loneliness, but on the promises of God. He wrote, “I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living.” His roots went down deep.
Our HEAL Student Ambassadors are on a mission! 💙🩺 Tonight, they showed up at Mead Middle School Open House to make sure EVERY student knows about the incredible opportunities waiting for them at HEAL!
The future starts with knowing your options. Explore. Dream. HEAL.💜
I will miss you! From year one, you have supported me, held me accountable, and extended so much grace. I’m truly grateful for your commitment and all you’ve poured into our district. You have overcome so much with incredible strength and courage, and now it’s time to celebrate you! Congratulations on your retirement. Wishing you continued health, joy, and every blessing in this beautiful next chapter!
"Advocacy is part of leadership. Hope has to have hands."

After digging into the data, tackling the issues, and doing the work, we took a moment to celebrate something special, the upcoming wedding of our very own @DrCrystalWatson, soon to be Dr. Crystal White. There’s always room to pause and celebrate life’s joyful moments. So happy for you, Crystal, and wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Thank you @DavisHS_AISD principal for all the work you do with the Green Oak Park Homeowners Association and the many ways you partner to support our students!
Ended the evening at the Green Oak Park Homeowners Association’s North Houston Community Partnership Summit, bringing together community members, elected officials, and local leaders to talk about the issues that matter most to North Houston.
I especially loved that education had a seat at the table. Strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand, and I’m always grateful for opportunities to listen, share our progress, hear concerns, and strengthen partnerships.
Thank you, Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Burns, for the invitation and for bringing people together and thank you to everyone who showed up, asked questions, and shared their voice. Community matters, and partnership makes us stronger! #chooseAldine
