We were absolutely delighted to showcase Engaging Dementia and the Irish Dementia Cafe Network during a pitch-side interview at half-time of yesterday's Dublin v Galway All-Ireland Football Quarter-Final in Croke Park.

Our CEO, Kim Tully, was joined by Charlie Drake from Cork, who spoke so passionately about the difference his local Dementia Café has made to his life. Charlie's story was a powerful reminder of the importance of creating welcoming spaces where people living with dementia, their families and carers can connect, share experiences and feel supported.

As one of the GAA's Official Charity Partners for 2026, we are encouraging GAA clubs across Ireland to consider opening a Dementia Café in their community. Together, we can help reduce isolation, strengthen community connections and ensure that people living with dementia and their families feel welcomed and supported.

A huge thank you to the GAA for providing this wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the Irish Dementia Cafe Network and the positive impact these cafés are having in communities across the country.
