I specifically require my employees to NOT tell me what they're doing on their time off in the official request form. If they do, I gently remind them not to do it again. I don't want to know, it's none of my business, and it has no bearing on the approval process.
Any supervisor who disagrees with me on this is wrong.
@Degentle_ …what’s up with the replies? People who have never had jobs with PTO? Personal Time Off is just that. Your personal time off. Doesn’t matter if you’re using it to go to the beach, watch paint dry, or sleep. It’s your time. Reason for it doesn’t matter.
@Degentle_ Email the manager with a CC to HR
"I'm a concerned with this line of questioning. It's my understanding that I dont have to disclose the nature of my PTO. I'm feeling pressured that if I dont disclose, it is going to negatively impact my professional capital"
@Meshai1234 If an employee has earned PTO and isn't abusing the policy, the manager's role is usually to determine whether the business can accommodate the absence not to judge whether the employee's personal reason is "worthy enough." Professional boundaries exist for a reason.
Famous children's educator Ms Rachel shares her opinion on the Nolan Wells case:
"The investigation would have been different if Nolan were white and his friends were Black"
Angel was visibly emotional, wiping away tears as she watched her little brother, JuJu, play live as an NBA player for the first time. 🤎🫶🏾
Although JuJu had already appeared n a couple of NBA games after earning his call up from the G League, this was Angel’s first opportunity to watch him on an NBA court n person.
A beautiful full circle moment for a proud big sister. Watching someone you’ve supported every step of the way see their dream become reality is special, and when it’s your sibling, it hits even harder.
Some moments are bigger than basketball. 🤍🙏🏾
