@sam_bedford There was a fantastic calculator I used in the past to help me. I can't find it now but it takes into account your rent/bills (if working from home), the amount you'd take out of a 1099, and making sure you come out with your desired "salary" at the end of it.
I love when I get an auto-reply email telling me that the recipient is on vacation and not checking email.
Good for you for setting boundaries and having a healthy work/life balance! Talk to you when you get back!
My favorite bit at work is suggesting places to take work trips. If I suggest enough, one suggestion will stick. The last suggestion was Disney World or Land...so fingers crossed.
It's okay to be split on AI.
You can be concerned about its misuse and still see AI's potential for good.
You can be impressed by the technology and still be deeply troubled by its unintended consequences.
It's not all or nothing--tbh, it's probably better to have mixed feelings.

I'm not against AI. I'm against unethical AI. I'm hoping I can use what little power I have in this world to help.
