Senior Corporal Arnulfo Pargas, #8001 - End of Watch: September 23, 2021

Senior Corporal Arnulfo Pargas died from complications as the result of contracting COVID-19 while working on patrol duty.

Senior Corporal Pargas had served with the Dallas Police Department for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and two daughters

Mr. Medellin was last seen on September 18, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., in the 2200 block of Riviera Drive., Dallas, TX. He was last seen wearing a red plaid shirt, blue jeans, black dress shoes, and a baseball cap.

Mr. Medellin left the area on foot headed in an unknown direction. Mr. Medellin may be lost and in need of assistance.

Mr. Foreman was last seen on September 11, 2026, at about 5p.m., in the 600 block of S Griffin Street. He was last seen wearing a blue Walmart cap, black shirt with super mario on the front, black slacks and blue tennis shoes. Mr. Foreman may be confused and in need of assistance.

Dallas Police are asking for the public's help to locate Christopher Johnson. He is wanted for a shooting that occurred on June 27, 2026, in the 3900 block of Linfield Road that killed one person and injured another.

As we recognize Hispanic Heritage Month, I want to take a moment to honor the history, culture, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino communities that have helped shape our city, our department, and our nation.

Dallas is strengthened by its diversity, and that diversity is reflected within the Dallas Police Department. Every day, our Hispanic officers and professional staff serve this city with dedication, professionalism, and pride. Your experiences, perspectives, and commitment make this department better and help us build stronger relationships with the communities we serve.

Yesterday, we officially kicked off our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, and I want to extend a special thank you to the National Latino Law Enforcement Organization (NLLEO), Office of Community Affairs, and Media Relations for sponsoring and coordinating the event. Your efforts created an opportunity for our DPD family to come together, celebrate our colleagues, and recognize the rich traditions and contributions of Hispanic and Latino culture.

Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, I encourage each of you to take time to learn, celebrate, and appreciate the people and stories that make our department and our city so special. More importantly, let us carry that spirit beyond this month by continuing to respect our differences, learn from one another, and serve every Dallas community with dignity and compassion.

Police Officer Victor Leon Morris, #212 - End of Watch: September 15, 1941

Officer Victor Morris was shot and killed with his own weapon while attempting to arrest a fare evader on a streetcar while off duty. The suspect had shoved Officer Morris' wife as they were in line and entered the streetcar on South St. Paul Street and Commerce Street. Officer Morris confronted the man, who then pulled out a knife. A struggle ensued and the suspect gained control of Officer Morris' handgun and shot him in the back. The suspect went directly to city hall and surrendered to other officers.

Officer Morris had served with the Dallas Police Department for one year. He was survived by his wife, parents, and three sisters.

Last week, the Dallas Police Department proudly welcomed 47 new officers from Class 409.

These 47 men and women raised their right hands and took the oath to serve and protect the citizens of Dallas. After months of rigorous training at the Dallas Police Academy, they are now ready to hit the streets and make a difference in our community.

The Dallas Police Department was recently made aware of a technical issue impacting the text to 9-1-1 service. Messages received during this period have been identified and addressed accordingly.

This technical issue impacted individuals utilizing the text to 9-1-1 service and at no time were emergency calls into 9-1-1 impacted.

Simultaneously, we are working with our technical partners to determine the cause of this outage and to prevent future reoccurrences.

This morning, members of the Dallas Police Department joined community leaders at the Museum of Biblical Art to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Assistant Director Allison Hudson, Deputy Chief Monica Igo, and Major Pollyanna Ashford represented DPD and shared reflections as we honored the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who answered the call, and the families forever impacted.

Additionally this past week,Dallas officers also joined other first responders in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, honoring the fallen responders’ memory and sacrifice.

Twenty-five years later, we remember their sacrifice, courage, and service.

We will never forget.
