Everton are braced for a fight to keep hold of Iliman Ndiaye, with the star forward having rejected multiple new deals over the course of the season.

The 26-year-old has three years remaining on his current contract and no exit clause, but Everton had been keen to reward his strong early-season form with fresh terms which would have made him become one of the club’s top earners.

According to sources briefed on the matter, a point of contention is the addition of an exit clause that could be triggered as early as this summer.

@Villa_Verse You'd imagine Maatsen the more likely to leave. Demands a higher price tag than Digne would, gives us more scope to replace with and means we have that blend of youth and experience at LB.

Not opposed to it - Maatsen hasn't done that much in 2 seasons now.

Regular Champions League is the key as you mentioned, achieving is the hard part but that's the way to establish us higher up the 'food chain' as Spurs fans call it...
