STAYING SECURE WHILE PROTECTING LIBERTY
If we give up our freedom when we are nervous or scared, then we are not worthy of the inheritance of our legacy as Americans. I believe we can AND MUST do both things at the same time - protect and preserve civil liberties while simultaneously protecting our State from bad actors who wish to harm us. It is those very liberties that make us such a worthy target to those who don’t believe the same way we do.
Let me be clear….State-wide counter intelligence efforts target foreign bad actors, nation states and terrorists trying to harm us. Period. Fighting them without preserving liberty is a betrayal to our character and DNA.
I am committed to accomplishing both things: Keeping Florida safe and preserving our precious rights and freedom. I won’t do it any other way.
FLORIDA WILL NOT WAIT
Our security is OUR responsibility and we will not wait for the Federal government or anyone’s permission to keep us safe. That was part of the message during my testimony to the US House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in our nation’s capital. When it is our businesses, ports, electrical grid, agricultural industries and so much else that is the target of wrong doers who want to attack America through Florida, we just can’t sit by and hope someone else takes care of us. That has never been our way and we will continue to lead the charge now.
THE Chief
To the rest of the State…he is the Fire Chief of the year. To me he is a true friend who leads his men and women with compassion, inspiration, fairness and love. He is the kind I always ask for but rarely find. We are lucky to have him here. Generations of firefighters will feel the impact of his leadership and example.
Congrats Doc…now the rest of the state knows what we have always known.
THE LIFESAVERS
The men and women who responded to treat and save our deputies who were shot this week are the absolute unsung heroes of this story. They show up, do their job, and quietly disappear back to their stations ready for their next call. But be certain…two men are still here with and their families still have their husbands and sons because of the professionalism and skill of the men and women of Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. Don’t take my word for it…
“Our deputies, no doubt are alive and in better medical condition because of the care that they received under the guidance and medical supervision of Hillsborough County Fire Rescue,” said Hillsborugh Sheriff Chad Chronister.
That is why it was so important to show up to Station 29 Sunday morning to make sure they got that message. They do NOT seek credit. They know it’s their job and they show up to do it. Yet, what they perform as normal is, under measure of the definition - extraordinary. One chaotic scene, five responding crews, two critically hurt deputies, a tight landing zone and two helicopters. All executed like they do it every day. YOU CANNOT THANK THEM ENOUGH!
We shared some cafecito, some stories, a coin and some admiration. Nothing I do is special - everything they are is! THANK YOU ALL!!!!
Special shout out to Rescue 29, Engine 29, Engine 28, Rescue 47, Peak Rescue 22 and Battalion Chief 4 for making it look easy and sending our boys home. Lives are absolutely better because of you!

WE DO DO NOT DESERVE THEM
Imagine getting shot twice yesterday - once in the face - and then coming into a room immediately after surgery the next day and getting up out of the hospital bed to make sure everyone in the room feels better because YOU got shot. Meet Deputy Muon. That is literally ust what he did -I wish you could have seen it. He had no concern for himself. It was only that others were ok. That his wife was fine. That his squad was good. Can you fathom the strength of character in a human like this?
Deputy Daniels was also hurt in this incident and was released before I could get to the hospital from the airport. We did spoke on the phone. He was a stud. You could hear the appreciation in his voice for the call but there was something else you could fee. STOP making a fuss - please! It was sincere. I hung up and drove in silence for a while pondering the resolve.
WE DO NOT DESERVE people like this. Like these Deputies. Like their Wives. Like their families. As a society, we take for granted the dedication and sacrifice it takes to operate our lives under the blanket of safety we are provided by men and women like these deputies. We often forsake the full measure of what they and their families do for us. If you really want to honor Huon, Colton and their families for their sacrifice, don’t just say thank you….live it. Live a life worthy of the sacrifice first responders provide you. You will hardly ever know them or their names. That doesn’t matter. Honor their sacrifices by being good to each other, taking advantage of the opportunity of the life you lead - give more than you get. It is not hard.
MUON, DANIELS, EMMA and your Families - THANK YOU for your strength, character and resiliency. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! I love you deeply. I am extremely grateful you are alive, safe and will be well
Florida Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia announced his endorsement of Representative Danny Alvarez in his campaign for reelection to the Florida House of Representatives, citing Alvarez’s record of fiscal responsibility, accountability, and conservative leadership.
“Danny is a fighter who expects government to work for the people, not the other way around. I’ve always fought to protect the taxpayers from the politicians who waste your money, and so has Danny Alvarez,” said Ingoglia. “I’ve worked side by side with Danny for years. He is always willing to make the right call and demand accountability, even when it isn’t easy. Let’s keep Danny Alvarez on the job fighting for you.”
Alvarez said he is eager to continue working for the citizens of District 69, noting Ingoglia’s relentless focus on protecting taxpayers has earned him a reputation as one of Florida’s toughest fiscal watchdogs.
“There isn’t a bigger bulldog for Florida taxpayers than Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia. His unwavering commitment to rooting out waste, demanding accountability, and ensuring every tax dollar is spent wisely has set the standard for responsible government in Florida. I’m incredibly grateful for his endorsement and proud to stand alongside him as we continue fighting to make government leaner, more efficient, and relentlessly focused on delivering the best value for the hardworking families who pay the bills. Together, we’ll keep protecting taxpayers and ensuring Florida remains the gold standard for fiscal responsibility.”
Representative @dannyalvarezsr is exactly right: states must be the first to respond and defend their critical vulnerabilities against the CCP.
When Communist China threatens a state's infrastructure, it cannot wait for the federal government's support.
STATE SECURITY
States have a responsibility to protect their citizens from all enemies foreign and domestic. Thats the message to state legislators from all over the South East today at our panel presentation for the Council of State Governments. The Feds have their hands full and quite frankly could really use local help to keep America safe from nation state bad actors and terror groups.
Waiting for the boom isn’t an option and pretending we don’t know there is a real threat is straight negligence. The speed of the enemy outpaces the speed of government and our process. We need to do better. Meetings like today prove we are willing to move in that direction and thats a move in the right direction.
SHERIFF CHAD CHRONISTER
"Danny Alvarez never stops fighting for Hillsborough County. He brings people together, gets things done, and always puts public safety and our families first. Whether he's working on legislation or helping solve local challenges, Danny is the kind of leader who understands that strong communities are built through teamwork and service."
FOREIGN AFFAIRS THE FLORIDA WAY
When it boils down to it, people that volunteer to serve their country are really a lot alike. That was crystal clear when I had the opportunity to speak with out 50 European foreign military officers on an exchange trip right here in Hillsborough County. We discussed a lot about the Florida way. They loved that part. We really are different!
The French, British, German, us…we all agreed on one thing, freedom belongs to no language, border, culture or country because it is universal. It belongs to everyone if we can keep it! Freedom and liberty are constantly under attack from forces who only succeed when either dies. Thats why it is so important to meet each other now and learn how we can build long term relationships.
If we ever need to come together to defend that freedom, well we are already united for the cause and each of us a little more Florida for the better.
SHERIFF CHRIS NOCCO
"Danny knows how to bring people together around common-sense solutions. His leadership is making a real difference for families across our region. He's a thoughtful policymaker who listens, collaborates, and never backs down from doing what's right for Florida communities."
SHERIFF WAYNE IVEY
"Danny Alvarez is the kind of leader Florida needs. He’s tough, principled, and always willing to roll up his sleeves to solve problems and support law enforcement. He approaches every challenge with determination and understands that meaningful results come from building strong partnerships and standing firm on your values."

GUARDIAN AND WARRIOR AWARD
It takes a LOT to catch me off guard and then get me to the point that I am at a loss for words.
I was in Orlando to discuss a pretty significant bill that the Police Chiefs Association is highly affected by. Not everyone agrees with my position but we are slowly working through the details in a respectful and intelligent manner as a team. They asked me to hang out for the reception right after and then they got me.
Here I am thinking it’s a social and they snuck this amazing honor in. I am not going to lie….my thank you speech afterwards stank because I was so smitten that they would think of me in this way that I could barely find the words. I received the Guardian & Warrior Executive Director’s Award “in grateful recognition of your tireless advocacy for law enforcement and first responders safety and wellness.” This isn’t an annual award and it was only the second time they have ever given this out.
THANK YOU to the Florida Police Chief’s Association. I am humbled beyond words. Truly. TRULY humbled! Thank you!
Sheriff Bob Gualtieri "Danny understands that safe communities are the foundation of a strong Florida. He's a proven leader who builds consensus and delivers real results. In Tallahassee, he has earned a reputation for bringing people together, finding solutions, and never losing sight of the people we serve."
SHERIFF GRADY JUDD…. “When it comes to protecting Florida, Danny Alvarez doesn’t back down. He stands shoulder to shoulder with the men and women of law enforcement, believes criminals belong behind bars and fights every day to keep our communities safe. He leads with integrity, does what he says he’ll do and understands that real leadership means showing up, building trust and making tough decisions. That’s the kind of leader Florida needs.
