Macclesfield FC can confirm that D'Mani Mellor has completed his transfer to Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
Whilst thanking D'Mani for all of his efforts during his time with us, we must place on record our understandable disappointment at the timing of the move.
As a Club we did everything we could to keep D'Mani, but due to the fact that the terms of his release clause were met and the player also expressed his wish to leave, we could not prevent him from becoming the fifth Macclesfield FC player to leave for The New Lawn since last summer.
Everyone at Macclesfield FC is committed to achieving our fourth promotion in five years, and we would like to reassure supporters that the Club's contingency plans will now be executed.
Underrated part of this clip:
Danny Elliott taking the throw that leads to Griffiths’ goal because he played the last ten mins at LB following Brandon Lee’s injury and us having used all our substitution windows.
So many great memories.
We will never forget this cup run 🔵⚪️
Macclesfield’s Lewis Fensome on how he wore Marc Guehi’s shirt to a nightclub after beating Crystal Palace:
“I didn’t know whether to call him ‘Marc’ or ‘Mr Guéhi’, but I just said, ‘Can I have your shirt after the game?’
“Luckily he was really nice and said, ‘Sorry, one of your lads has already asked for it.’ Our striker D’Mani Mellor was laughing at me because he’d got it.
“But then Guéhi said, ‘I’ve got one from the first half you can have, don’t worry.’
“I had no clothes with me, apart from my tracksuit — I wasn’t expecting to be celebrating a win. So I put Marc Guéhi’s shirt on, my jacket over the top, and borrowed my friend’s jeans and shoes.
“I went everywhere in Manchester with the shirt on until a bouncer stopped me. I said, ‘Do you know how I got this?’ To be fair, he let me put my jacket on over it and let me in.”
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your path straight.
