There is significant concern following recent e-scooter accidents. We are accelerating regulations, including raising the minimum age from 16 to 18, with measures on registration, insurance, helmets, visibility and modified e-scooters. Road safety remains a priority

Delighted that the Dublin Airport Passenger Cap Act 2026 has passed into law.

This Act recognises the strategic importance of the airport as our primary international gateway and delivers on the Programme for Government commitment to address the passenger cap planning condition

I plan to commence the relevant provisions of the Act to enable An Coimisún Pleanála to undertake the necessary environmental assessments and am committed to ensuring the environmental assessments are completed within the strict timelines set out in the Act.

Good news for Cork commuters. From 20 July, the 90 Minute Fare will be introduced across the Cork metropolitan area, bringing it in line with the integrated fare system. Child fares will also be reduced, making public transport more affordable.
