Good to welcome the incoming Victorian RSL State President, Dr Mark Schroffel, to Gippsland to discuss issues impacting veterans and their families.

South Melbourne versus Fitzroy grand final… AKA Sydney Swans versus Brisbane Lions! Our national game in good shape. Go Bloods! #lovegippsland@sydneyswans
Fantastic decision by Mia Davies to seek preselection for the new seat of Bullwinkel. A proven fighter for WA, Mia will bring a healthy dose of common sense to Canberra. Intelligent, determined, experienced and passionate… she will make a huge difference! #auspol@The_Nationals
As former Minister there was no more reliable source of information & insights into the needs of veterans & their families than Gavin Pearce. A likeable larrikin with a sharp wit & abundant common sense, his decision to not contest the next election is Federal Parliament’s loss.
How safe are the roads on your commute? 🤔
450,000 km of roads around Australia have been rated for their safety on a star rating scale out of five.
Under immense pressure from road safety advocates, the Federal Government recently committed to requiring state and territory governments to publish this data.
It means that soon you’ll know which roads you drive on need safety upgrades, and it will make it harder for politicians in marginal seats to upgrade roads to win votes.
The Queensland government has already committed to share this data. Other states should follow suit ASAP.

The world record for BS. Just tell the truth occasionally Lily… 60% of Victoria’s energy still comes from Latrobe Valley brown coal. It’s OK to say ‘Thankyou’ to the power station workers who keep the lights on… real Labor used to love blue collar workers. #lovegippsland
Victoria has the lowest wholesale power prices in the country.
Whether by building more large scale renewables, or making it easier for Victorians to install a power station on their roof with a @SolarVictoriaAU rebate, renewables are driving down power bills across the state.
The federal Dept of Climate Change, Energy the Environment and Water has awarded consultants a taxpayer-funded contract to advise on “options to address Victoria’s forecast electricity supply shortfall.” https://t.co/dJaIDqrxAE #auspol#springst
The glorious irony of the Minister who pushed for a ban on new gas connections to Victorian households defending her record on gas! At least @MadeleineMHKing understands the importance of the Australian resource sector… unlike the entire Victorian Labor Government #lovegippsland
So @MadeleineMHKing is more like a Coalition Minister on radio this morning. How about talking the facts: 1. Qld gas is not doing ‘the heavy lifting’ as it remains a nett importer of Vic gas 2. There is no ban on Vic onshore con. gas exploration. And Vic fixed Iona - not you
@AAAcomms@KristyMcBain After Albanese Government abolished the Roads of Strategic Importance program. What a dangerous farce. Regional people are more likely to be killed/injured on high speed arterial roads while city-focused Labor Ministers spend big on suburban projects.
Taking my own advice to ‘see Australia first’ with a road trip to the Eyre Peninsula. What a place… filled with amazing landscapes and seascapes. A photographer’s dream. And can confirm the nation has been over-run with grey nomads! #seeaustraliafirst#lovegippsland
Australia’s longest wooden jetty at Port Germein. As a kid who grew up fishing at Lakes Entrance, I’m a self-confessed ‘wharf rat’ and can’t resist walking on any jetties/piers/wharves when we travel. This one is a beauty. #seeaustraliafirst#lovegippsland
Bendigo certainly knows how to put on a parade. Happy Easter everyone and thanks to the organisers and participants for a fabulous community celebration! #lovegippsland#seeaustraliafirst#bendigo
Terrific to see the end result for hard working volunteers at the Mallacoota Gun Club. Four years after the Black Summer bushfires they have built back better and looking forward to welcoming more visitors and new members. Putting a bushfire recovery grant to use! #lovegippsland
Thank you for your service. My thoughts with my good friend Joel and his family as they deal with this tragic loss. Rest in peace, Jack. Lest we forget.
Our hearts broke and our lives changed forever. But we are proud of our beautiful Jack. He died doing something he loved and in service to his country. Overwhelmed by expressions of love, sympathy and support, we say thanks. Lest we Forget ❤️
