Are you a thief of joy? 'Tis the season to spread this reminder: Despite a few recent articles floating around which claim the contrary, "Joy to the World" is most definitely a Christmas song. 💯 #MerryDatPostmilChristmas https://t.co/rVQxPT9JqJ
@JonathanDLeeman Romans 8 ties redemption of hearts to the lifting of the curse. This happens progressively in history and fully and finally at the consummation.
“Behold I am making all things new” in Rev 21 is about a progression in history. It cannot be exclusively about what happens later.
@JonathanDLeeman Here’s more inconvenient verses:
"Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, REDEEMING the time, because the days are evil." (Eph. 5:15-16)
"Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, REDEEMING the time." (Col. 4:5).
@JonathanDLeeman This verse states that all things do need to be reconciled which just doesn’t fit with your statements which limits redemption to human hearts. Yes evangelism is the prerequisite but it was the 1st advent that sets the redeeming of all things into motion in history. Not the 2nd.
@JonathanDLeeman False dichotomies abounding. Culture is nothing more than the prevailing beliefs and practices of a society. The SPIRIT works through us to disciple the nations towards obedience to Christ. Obedient nations are culturally transformed nations.
