honestly, no. while I applaud you for being direct and taking initiative, your approach misses the point.
a lack of specificity is a big problem. "I think you're handsome and want to get to know you" is generic. you could say that to anyone.
you should be able to identify at least one thing about someone that makes them linger in your mind. a trait, an interaction, their gait, or even a specific physical feature.
if you are unable, it's worth looking inward and pondering whether you're interested in this person specifically or simply experiencing a fleeting crush. more vague your attraction, more you are to lose interest.
point of courtship is not to say "I want you." it's to communicate "here's why it's you."
