The Chief of Defence Staff, who was in Zamfara on an official visit, acknowledged the ongoing support my administration provides to the troops.
I reiterated that my administration's main priority is security because, without security, all we do is of no benefit to the people of Zamfara State. As a government, we need the military's cooperation to tackle this menace.
My government is always prepared to continue supporting the military and other security agencies.
Yesterday, I witnessed the 61st Argungu International Fishing Festival at Matan Fada in Argungu town, Kebbi State.
The colourful event was attended by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, along with other governors and dignitaries.
The Argungu festival attracts thousands of fishermen and tourists from Nigeria and abroad.
Events like these highlight the beauty of our cultures and the peaceful coexistence our region is known for.
Earlier today, I received Éric Sékou Chelle, the head coach of the Super Eagles. It was a pleasure to converse with such a great sportsperson.
We discussed key issues that support Zamfara State's development and how to engage our youths in active sports across different categories, especially in light of the upcoming inauguration of our revamped stadium and sports complex.
This morning, I received Major General Warrah Idris, the newly appointed Theatre Commander of the Operation Fansan Yamma, in my office.
I emphasized to the commander that my administration remains dedicated to working with and supporting the troops in their united efforts to eliminate banditry in Zamfara.
We have consistently supported security personnel in Zamfara State and will continue to do so. Security concerns involve everyone; as leaders, we all have a responsibility to contribute.
Earlier today, I was in my alma mater, the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, to commission the renovated and fully equipped Department of Political Science & International Studies library.
I renovated the library as a way to give back, having been an alumnus of the department in 1988 & 1991. I renovated the library that prepared me, and several other students, to face the challenges of time.
It is my pledge and prayer to continue to contribute to the growth and development of the great Ahmadu Bello University! I call on others to do their best to help the university retain its glory and greatness
Last night, I was honored to receive the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service (NEAPS) 2025 for Governance and Security Reform.
This recognition motivates me to continue working harder to rescue and rebuild Zamfara.
I dedicate this award to the people of Zamfara, whose strong support, admiration, and trust in my administration inspire me.
Earlier today, I visited Bauchi State to extend my condolences to the Bauchi State government and the families of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
When the revered Sheikh passed away last week, I was on an official trip abroad. Despite this, I sent a high-level delegation representing the Zamfara State Government to his burial.
At the Sheikh's residence, I prayed for Allah's forgiveness for him and asked that Aljannah be his final home.
I also visited the Bauchi State Government House to extend my sympathies to my elder brother, His Excellency Bala Mohammed, over this great loss.
Last week, I attended the Africa Investment Forum Markets Days in Rabat, Morocco, from November 26 to 28, 2025. The event was organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB) along with six founding partners.
I participated in a high-level ministerial discussion on encouraging private investment by creating favorable conditions, took part in a panel on increasing investments through public-private partnerships, and attended a session focused on mobilizing domestic capital for Africa's growth.
During a roundtable with potential global investors, I shared in-depth information about Zamfara State's advantages in the agricultural sector. I highlighted our history as an agrarian society and our position as the leading producer of various crops.
Furthermore, I invited investors to Zamfara, assuring them that my government is in the final stage of completing an international cargo airport, developing a five-star hotel, and initiating major urban renewal projects to foster a pro-investment environment.
I was paid a visit by Comrade Aisha Ibrahim K. Burra, the National President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), at my office in Gusau.
The association conducted a three-day workshop on gender equity and safety/ gender-sensitive reporting for women journalists in Zamfara State.
I have been an advocate for gender equity, which is why my administration has developed policies that promote girl-child education and offer numerous opportunities for women.
I assure the National President of NAWOJ of my administration's readiness to host the 19 Northern States National Conference on the empowering role of women in peacebuilding.
Earlier today, I attended the wedding of Timothy, the son of His Excellency, Governor Caleb Muftwang, in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State.
I pray that the couple has a blessed union and that peace prevails in their home.
Yesterday, I had the honor of joining His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima GCON, the Vice President of Nigeria, who represented the country at the Second Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) High-Level Roundtable on Critical Minerals Development in Africa.
This important roundtable took place on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Zamfara State plays a crucial role in Africa's mineral resources, and my administration is committed to exploring all opportunities for the advancement of our beloved state.
Yesterday, I welcomed my colleagues from the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum (PDP-GF) and other party leaders in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.
During the strategic meeting today, we addressed critical issues such as the state of the nation, security, democracy, and efforts to reposition our beloved party, the PDP, in preparation for the upcoming National Convention.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a communiqué was issued, and the chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum led a press briefing.

Last week, the NYSC management awarded me at the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course closing ceremony in Zamfara State.
The Award of Excellence recognizes my administration's support and dedication to ensuring the smooth operations and safety of corps members across Zamfara State.
The Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Hon. Tasiu Musa Shinkafi, received the award on my behalf. This recognition will motivate us to put in even more effort to ensure the welfare of corps members.
Today, I presided over the Zamfara State Executive Council meeting in Gusau, the state capital.
The council serves as the highest decision-making body focused on addressing crucial issues to enhance the lives of our citizens.
We are making positive progress in our rescue mission.
Yesterday, I visited the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) head office in Abuja for a courtesy meeting to formally congratulate the Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, on her appointment.
During our meeting, I conveyed the Zamfara State government's appreciation for all the assistance the commission has provided in our efforts to overhaul the educational system in our state.
Before this administration, Zamfara was at the bottom in all aspects of education. This is why I declared a state of emergency in the sector on November 20, 2023.
I assured the commission that my administration would utilize every Kobo received from UBEC with accountability and transparency, and our records would be open for scrutiny.
My government is always ready to participate in any program requiring us to contribute counterpart funds; we have the funds available and are prepared to commit.
Earlier today, I joined other leaders of our great party for the 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was held at Wadata Plaza, the party's headquarters in Abuja.
The PDP will emerge stronger and as a united force. In sha Allah.
Today marks the 40th birthday of Dr. Jamil Jibo Magayaki, the chairman of the Zamfara State chapter of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
May Allah grant him good health and allow him to witness many more years.

The government and the entire people of Zamfara were honored to have the rare privilege of hosting the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR, for the commissioning of the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau. The former president also commissioned the Zanna Abarma road, which was executed as part of our urban renewal project.
The Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital underwent extensive modernization with the renovation of 14 key departments and the building of new centers like the new radiology center, the new laboratory, and the new obstetrics and gynecology center.
We also equipped the hospital with state-of-the-art equipment and deployed technology for the hospital management system. We installed new MRI and CT scan machines, which we believe are revolutionary in the health sector in Zamfara.
These and many more in this sector are testaments to my administration’s resolve to improve the quality of life of our people.
We immensely thank President Obasanjo for joining us in witnessing development in our dear state.
