It’s fair week in Ross County!  This is a cherished tradition that brings together families, farmers, 4-H members, exhibitors, volunteers, and communities from across Southern Ohio.

The 82nd Annual Ross County Fair runs August 8–15, 2026, at the fairgrounds in Chillicothe! As you celebrate another great year, I want to recognize the young people who work hard all year long preparing their livestock, projects, and exhibits. Their dedication represents the very best of Ross County and Ohio’s agricultural heritage.

Thank you to the Fair Board, 4-H advisors, volunteers, exhibitors, families, and everyone who helps make this tradition possible.

Charity and I had the pleasure of joining the Hamden community in Vinton County for the Hamden Firefighters Association’s 5th Annual Chinese Auction!

Events like this are about more than fundraising — they bring neighbors together and help provide critical support for the volunteer firefighters who work tirelessly to protect their community. The auction proceeds continue supporting the Hamden Volunteer Fire Department.

Thank you to all of the volunteers, local businesses, and community members who continue to invest in the people who keep our communities safe. OH-02 is proud to support our volunteer firefighters!

Great turnout for National Night Out in Pierce Township! 🇺🇸

It was awesome stopping by Locust Corner Park tonight to connect with neighbors, enjoy the music, and support the dedicated officers and first responders from the Pierce Township Police & Fire Departments.

Events like this are a great reminder of how strong and supportive our community really is. A huge thank you to the Pierce Township Police Department, emergency responders, and volunteers for putting together such a fun evening for local families!

Great time getting out into the community! I had the privilege of stopping by the Milford and Miami Township National Night Out event, as well as the Clermont County Sheriff’s Night Out!

It was fantastic seeing so many neighbors, families, and local leaders come together to support our first responders and build a stronger community. Thank you to all the law enforcement officers, organizers, and volunteers who made these events such a success! 🇺🇸

A beautiful evening to open the Gallia County Fair! I had the privilege to visit with several folks before tonight's opening, and was even able to catch some of the Market Goat Show. Great to see my friend Steve Evans and State Treasurer Robert Sprague.

Had a fantastic time attending the Scioto County Fair! Events like this truly highlight the strong sense of community, tradition, and hard work that make the 2nd district so special.

It was a pleasure connecting with local leaders who serve our area so faithfully, including Commissioner Will Mault, Treasurer Joey Sandlin, Sheriff David Thoroughman, and Pastor Tim Throckmorton. Thank you all for your dedicated leadership and support of our community.

I also want to recognize Taylor Cron for her impressive dedication. Not only is she doing a great job as a swine exhibitor at the fair, but as the reigning Miss Minford, she is also preparing to compete in the upcoming Miss River Days pageant. Wishing Taylor the absolute best of luck in the competition!

Today was a great day helping kick off the Vinton County Fair! It was an honor to spend time with so many outstanding 4-H members whose dedication, hard work, and commitment were on full display.

The Vinton County Fair is more than just a tradition—it’s a celebration of our agricultural heritage, our rural communities, and the next generation of leaders. The countless hours these young people invest in caring for their animals, developing new skills, and serving their communities are truly inspiring.
