Battle of Foy
Dec 20, 1944 - Jan 14, 1945

Taking place during the overarching Battle of the Bulge, this battle saw Allied forces attempt to seize control of the village of Foy, with the village changing hands four times throughout the engagement.

The intense fighting occurred mainly in snowy fields with minimal cover, resulting in many casualties on both sides. This battle demonstrated the brutal nature of the war in Europe and the sacrifices made by those who fought.

Even though American Airborne troops were surrounded and outnumbered by Axis forces, they refused to surrender and held their ground until reinforcements arrived. The resilience of the soldiers at Bastogne became legendary.

Battle of the Bulge
Dec 20 - Dec 27, 1944

Taking place in the Ardennes forest surrounding the city of Bastogne, the Battle of the Bulge took place in harsh winter conditions. In a major counter-attack effort, the German army sought to push back the advancing Allied forces.

Despite being outnumbered, the paratroopers were able to stand their ground and fight hard against opposing forces. This battle demonstrated the effectiveness of airborne troops and holding key positions on the battlefield.

A significant engagement during the Allied invasion of Normandy, this battle saw paratroopers attempt to hold strategic positions near the village of Breville-les-Monts.

Operation: Avalanche was an Allied campaign, starting September 9th, 1943, that saw forces launch a massive amphibious attack on the coast near Salerno.

Omaha Beach
June 6, 1944

Facing near insurmountable odds, the Allied forces landing at Omaha beach were met with immediate heavy resistance from the Axis forces through machine gun bunkers, artillery, minefields, Belgian gates, and more.

Eventually, after suffering significant casualties, allied troops would manage to make improvised assaults and scale the bluffs between bunkers, leading to the eventual overtaking of the Axis defenses and allowing Allied forces to secure the beachhead and push further inland.
