I was going to do one of those posts like “This is my son. He has autism but we love him. We shove him in a shipping container and make him play his bagpipes in there.” etc etc but this song is so beautiful that I can’t do it. Enjoy!
Eating with a group of pastors & talking about church leadership at The Irma in Cody, WY & a random lady walks by quickly & leaves this note on the table.
“You have any women in your church? Ask them.”
You can’t make this stuff up. 🤣
"Hey, I'm going to educate my kids classically..."
"Oh, what does that involve..."
"Well, we use the system the Romans and Greeks used..."
"Oh, did that have good results for them..."
"Well..."
"Didn't both practice infanticide, have rampant sexual immorality, worship false gods, and more..."
"But they read really good literature and had such good dialogues and discussions..."
"Didn't the Romans also persecute Christians pretty terribly and basically destroy all sorts of other nations and cultures?"
"But you see... Trivium!"
"Okay, expelliermus... now that we aren't playing Harry Potter anymore, can we get back to the discussion..."
"but don't you see how we save the west is by embracing their values and educational system..."
"Didn't both Romans and greeks practice pederasty and other really nasty stuff... isn't that a pretty core part of their values?"
"you just don't want your kids to be educated enough to be elites in our society..."
"Epstein elites??? yeah, probably not..."
This is an interesting study in female “word casting”.
This woman’s tone and delivery are perfect. She’s also fluent in Christianese, where “gift from God” is the good-good word and “idol” is the bad-bad word.
In this moment, said woman feels good about young women pursuing careers, bad about young women waiting for marriage.
Therefore marriage (a literal sacramental gift from God) is an idol, and pursuing materialism in the marketplace (a literal idol) is a gift from God.
White is black and black is white, because this women’s isn’t communicating theology, she is communicating how she feels.
Jake Meador continues to work at the Dispatch with a man who abandoned his wife and young kids to become a trans “woman,” actively trying to normalize this fetish to a supposedly conservative audience.
And then Meador whines that a PCA court wasn’t able to substantiate his libelous insinuations against Garris over far more tangential relationships.
Neither of you actually believe any of the standards you incessantly harp on. You are letting your bitter hatred of Christians who reject your political demands turn you into pharisaical caricatures.
In the mid-2000s, the Predators were given a deal that allows them to take sales taxes from concerts and events held at Bridgestone Arena. Nashville’s team now pockets a share of taxes from tickets, beers, merch, and parking to fund their operations, maintenance, and those massive $650M upgrades. This deal was extended in 2019 by Nashville Dems.
In other words, if you go see Kid Rock or Jason Aldean at Bridgestone Arena, your sales tax will go directly to the gay Predators.
Gentlemen,
Not every besetting sin in your life is purely a spiritual problem.
The sin is real. Repentance is necessary. But sometimes your body is making the battle harder than it has to be.
Do you battle with anger?
It may be sin.
It may also be sleep apnea.
Do you battle with lethargy?
It may be slothfulness.
It may also be low testosterone.
Do you battle with anxiety?
It may be sinful fear.
It may also be poor sleep, a bad diet, too much caffeine or nicotine, or a nervous system that has been running on fumes for years.
The point is not to excuse sin.
The point is to stop pretending that men are disembodied souls.
You are body and soul. And sometimes the body is dragging the soul into a fight it is too exhausted to win.
Over the last eight years, I have spoken with countless men who were fighting difficult besetting sins they could not seem to overcome.
I have seen men who regularly flew into rages so intense they seemed ready to give themselves a stroke.
The issue was solved with a CPAP machine.
I have seen men who wanted to be hard workers, but could barely drag themselves out of bed.
This was solved when they found that they had low testosterone.
I have seen men with severe brain fog that made them poor fathers, husbands, and businessmen.
This was solved when they discovered that the issue was mitochondrial dysfunction, systemic inflammation, or other underlying health problems.
Many of these men were able to identify the issue with something as simple as a blood panel or a sleep study.
Many were able to improve dramatically with a CPAP, a few peptides, dietary changes, better sleep discipline, or other targeted interventions.
Again, this does not excuse sin.
It simply means that some men are trying to fight spiritual battles while their bodies are collapsing underneath them.
Repent of your sin.
But also get your bloodwork done. Fix your sleep. Clean up your diet. Take your body seriously.
You are not a ghost.
You are a man made of body and soul.
@drantbradley You need to check the minutes of the PCA’s 87 presbyteries to know Zach Garris was on trial? Do you hear yourself? You seemed interested in the topic of his employment in 2024. Now I understand why you delete your Twitter comments every two years.
Pastors, your congregations are begging you to apply the text to women as you would to men.
Be direct and helpful about the duties of women as they arise in the text.
Apply the text to common female sins as you would common male sins.
You can’t pastor people you’re scared of.
