With all eyes on Guildwars 👀 let me remind you that gw2 has the most fun an unique movement and mount system already, this is probably the point that makes me most excited for gw3 currently! #gw2#Guildwars#gw3
@Gilded_Dragon_ I agree! I'm sure it won't look like how GW2 does it, but I am hopeful we will have a bunch of chases to do at various paces between casual and hardcore content. I just know it won't be nearly as large as GW2 at launch, and that's ok w/ me as long as they have a roadmap.
"This game that is using the tagline 'Evolution of the MMO' NEEEEEEEDS to conform to 30 year old design principles from the game I have 10,000+ hours in or it will be DOGSHIT"
There's too much wrong with his sentiment that is too granular for Twitter, but ppl pls stop doing this
#Guildwars3 needs to launch with the following
Raids - Not just one boss garbo. Full blown Raid. LEAST ONE
Improved Fractals
Multiple World Events Rotating
Deep Story Quests even side ones (which they are A Tier already)
WvW NEW MAP
SPvP redone. Don't think current one ever became as popular as it should have
Battlegrounds - CTF, KOTH, Maybe something Unique to GW
Trinity System - But only in instanced content.
130,000 new Dyes and Mogs
Endgame loop
New RICH content every 16 weeks. Not just a quest line.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Cimo’s passing.
Cimo’s love for trading card games was evident in everything he created. He helped bridge communities, championed the genre he loved, and introduced countless players to new games and experiences, including ours.
TCGs are better because of the passion, kindness, and enthusiasm he shared for them.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the many fans and creators who are grieving this loss.
@aelarynn as far as builds go, for solo stuff, most builds gravitate towards gear/skills that can do it all. Decent damage and survivability. I think Mirage has the best flavor of that for Mesmer :D but of course the different content types require specialization and is a big rabbit hole!
@aelarynn Without overcomplicating it, while leveling just make sure to try out every weapon to see which you like. Once you hit 80 and get access to the elite specs, Mirage is my favorite open world class that is a great all rounder. Chrono for PVE endgame. Virtuoso/Troubadour for PVP
@aelarynn I hope you enjoy! Mesmers are one of Guild Wars' most original creations. So many potential builds that can fill every role. Glad to see you liking the game
@m1asma_ Yeah I think the gearing may work like Farever. I am envisioning the combat will be something between Monster Hunter and a character action game (like DMC/Bayo/etc.) with all their talk about momentum in combat.
@GGore65002096 It's a game I do not like because of the design constraints touted by the OP. Guild Wars 3 is not going to be a traditional MMO and it doesn't "need" to copy the MOST traditional MMO to "save itself". Both games can coexist with different design goals.
terrible bait.
@itmeJP a popular gw2 youtuber. Mukluk and Laranity make great general guides. I recommend making a new character and going through the leveling process from the ground up. If you do boost, I recommend watching videos even more lol
@itmeJP If you are feeling overwhelmed, I would recommend not boosting. It will just exacerbate. The benefit of it being a horizontal game is all the content is evergreen, and therefore all the guide videos everyone makes is evergreen as well. I recommend watching a beginners guide from
@GGore65002096 Of course its WoW. Everything I've been saying reinforces my argument that other games should not copy it. you are just a ragebaiting asmon viewer. Good luck
@dem0npaws "Nothing is 100% certain, but I am going to make assertions as if they are true anyway"
Y'all are forming finalized opinions on a game we know nothing about yet.
4) I agree with the 16 week cycle, mostly. Just any content release with any regularity and a roadmap will suffice for me
5) Get hype, but don't hype yourself into inevitable disappointment. It happens every time in every genre. Be realistic.
may not be necessary in the same way we know it in a game so based on movement. What does a tank that is free running and using the Z axis heavily look like? Do we even know how the game will play? We can't ask for trinity if we have NO IDEA what the combat looks like.
