For this week’s #SpeciesOfTheWeek , we bring to you the green crab spider.
This species, like many other spiders has not been studied extensively and is classified as “Data Deficient” by IUCN, with a range reported from India and Pakistan, to Japan. The green crab spider belongs to a larger family of crab spiders which are carnivorous by diet. Individuals rely on their green colouration to blend in with leaves, avoiding detection by larger predators.
