One undiscussed dynamic: Maine’s Dem primary is a test of how much elite media still controls liberals’ votes. For my entire lifetime, the NYT etc has decided which national Dems liberals feel they’re allowed & not allowed to vote for. Today’s primary will test if that is changing — which IMO is part of why you’ve seen such an intense freakout over Platner in elite media.

I don’t know if it actually is changing — but the primary will be a signal of whether liberal voters are starting to take their cues from other sources rather than just taking orders from national elite media outlets.
