Week 21 - Well that's it. I've submitted my #OUB329#B329LeadershipChallenge EMA which concludes this module - a sigh of relief and sadness. 1 out of three modules this year completed 2 to go.
Week 18 of #OUB329 and submission of my #B329LeadershipChallenge. I enjoyed the aspect of the challenge and how the leadership styles we have been learning can be applied to real-life scenarios.
My CTA was: "Is boundaryless leadership the new normal in a post covid world?"
Week 17 of #OUB329 and #B329LeadershipChallenge, focused on social change, how using challenging discourses can lead to positive, successful solutions to social problems. Leadership through storytelling is a great way to convey a message and build empathy with your followers.
Week 16 of #OUB329, for the #B329LeadershipChallenge discussed the differences between agonism conflicts and antagonism. I also learnt how precarious workers take advantage of new technologies to develop a form of activist leadership that is diverse, accessible and flexible.
Week 15 of #OUB329 continued the #B329LeadershipChallenge as it brought in the understanding of resistance in leadership. Where resistance stems from and how a leader should expect to face resistance. Also as a follower, you can understand resistance can lead to a positive change
Week 14 of #OUB329 introduced the #B329LeadershipChallenge and the three-step process to help identify the issues as either tame, critical or wicked. It also covered place-based leadership and discussed a case study and the importance of engaging in the local community.
Week 12 of #OUB329, analysed the positive, negative and zero-sum narratives in #leadership. How collaboration can be used as a strategy to achieve this and also the difficulties involved with this. Considering both the advantages and limitations of a positive-sum approach.
In #OUB329 Week 11, the discussions were based around the every growing #leadership and #conflict and how leaders can provoke conflict to bring forward differences of opinion which can then be used to solve problems, through listening and understanding differing perspectives.
Week 10 of #OUB329, gave an interesting insight into #relational and #follower-centred approaches to leadership and the importance of relationships between people in order for leadership to happen. I find both strategies more effective to the alternative of hierarchy and position
Week 9 of #OUB329 explored the concept of #collaboration and the #collaborativeLeadershipActivies. The activities gave insight into how leaders can maintain their collaboration. Furthermore, through Act.2, I got to inspect how my characteristics affect my collaboration qualities.
Week 8 of #OUB329, discussed the topics #Inclusiveness, #diversity, #boundarylessLeadership and the benefits of harnessing an inclusive culture. Also, the importance of being considerate of different cultures within any business and how to adapt strategies to be more flexible.
In week 7 of my #OUB329 course, it was interesting to learn about the different #leadershipIdentities and how you can adapt your identity traits into any given situation. We also learnt about #inspiringLeadership and how they can be influential and help motivate their employees.
During week five of #OUB329 I learnt more about #successfulLeadership and #blogwriting. How to structure and guide a piece of writing to engage with the audience I want to attract. Also how I would structure and lead an interview with someone I deem to be an influential leader.
In the fourth week of #OUB329, I learnt about #leadership in a #multiculturalworld. More specifically about the 3 characteristics of global leadership mindset (orientation, knowledge and behaviour). I enjoyed learning about multicultural differences whilst improving my knowledge.
@Barry_Verdin For me as a young person, I find Jermery Corbyn and Jacinda Arden to be quite inspirational, especially how Jacinda has handled the pandemic in New Zealand.
In week two of #OUB329 I studied the harshness of #Precarity. Having experienced as a teenager being on a #zerohourcontract. Finding it difficult to comprehend people who have no choice but to live off these contracts. It's important future leaders target this injustice.
Week three of studying #OUB329, I was introduced to #populism and #turbulence. How these two concepts can be linked with modern UK politics and how the characteristics and practices of a populist leader can be compared to different political leaders around the globe.
The first week of #OUB329 I studied the 5 steps of #criticalthinking. I was intrigued and surprised by its importance when analysing the robogov article. It was difficult to not include my own opinions. This could definitely help me solve problems in future professional roles.
